Gaga and Boon JourneyHello from Saving Giants! We have been very quiet lately but we have some good news to share with all of you. After many months of deep thoughts and chatting with the owner of Gaga and Boon, it's been decided to move the elephants to a new place.Due to costs and space this is the best decision we could have take for the future health of the animals. Jhon, the mahout, is still with them at the new sanctuary “Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary“.Gaga and Boon are currently in the adaptation phase, exploring their new jungle life, sleeping in nature, in a place where there is plenty of space to walk, a lot of trees to hide from the sun and scratch their bodies and a nice river to bath every day. They are well looked after. It was sad seeing them leaving the old camp but we know it's for their best.We want to take the opportunity to thank all our followers and we would especially like to thank those who donated their time and/or money to help us to save Gaga and Boon and give them a better life, it has been an amazing adventure!
Financial update:

It’s not to late in the holiday season
to give the gift of life for our girls! We have many different ways to donate from both Thailand and abroad in other countries. We have a Thailand bank account, a Go Fund Me page, PayPal, and a Swift account! If you are not sure what your donation would be used for, please message us. One of our team members will respond ASAP thanks again for following 🎁🎁
An elephants trunk is referred to in zoological terms as a “proboscis,” a Greek word meaning “ to feed, to nourish.” The trunk is a combination of an upper lip and nose. You can see here GaGa using hers to pick up bananas 🍌
Not all elephants have tusks! Female Asian elephants have a smaller tusk, referred to as “tushes.” Our girl GaGa only has 1!
Project #1 - Finished
ITS FINALLY DONE! Introducing Saving Giants first complete construction project - an elephant proof, fresh water pool 🏊♀️ now the girls can drink and bath whenever they please. Truly delightful. Great news! For the first time since we’ve started working with her, GaGa was able to lay down and stand up on her own. She likes to sleep laying down, so this is a big deal! With a good nights rest, her recovery will be even faster than before l! Who doesn’t love a good night of sleep

An elephants body is quite resilient. Although our girls skin is thick, it’s prone to sunburn and bug bites. When exposed to extreme heat, the girls use freshly acquired dirt to create natural protection from the sun and insects. 🐘☀️
Right now GaGa & BoonBoon do not have shelter, but the team is working hard to cordonate with the owner to make it happen!
None of this would be possible without your help, thank you to everyone who has liked or followed our story. 🐘❤️🐘 #animals #rescue #thailand #elephants
Elephants have about 40,000 muscles in their trunks to help them smell, breath, pick up objects, and communicate! They can lift up to 700lbs, isn’t that insane?
Here we can see Boon using her trunk to carefully pick up a watermelon 🍉
