✨️Welcome✨️ Boonmee to Elepgantsworld. She came all the way from Chang Mai with Bua Tong where she used to work in the logging industry. She's only 51 years old. 🐘

🍒 This is Cherry🍒

📍 BORN: 2017, in the Chang Mai Province

🧳BACKGROUND: Cherry belonged to a private owner and stayed outdoor, but we are not sure what she was doing there, anyway, the owner decided not to keep her and to offer her a better life and that is why he contacted Dr.Samart , the owner of ElephantsWorld.

🧘‍♀️RETIREMENT: She arrived here in june 2024 and straight away she was doing very well. She is very friendly and has become very close to Gaina and Nemochi, with who she finds reassurance when she gets scared or seeks comfort. She still has lots to learn and both of them will teach cherry everything she needs to know!

ℹ️FACTS ABOUT HER: She does not like dogs
and she's not that keen on our little humans getting too close to her.

HOW TO REGONISE HER: ☝️She has a long tail. ✌️Small tusks for now that might grow a little more. 👌She has a triangle shape on her back.

🚩TANGMO 🐘

👉Tangmo in thai watermelon👈

🧳BORN: 1950, in Chiang Mai.🧳

ℹ️BACKGROUND: She started her life in the logging industry and then worked in trekking camps in Chiang mai.

ℹ️RETIREMENT: Tangmo came to us from her trekking camp in April 2024. When she arrived, she was very weak and skinny. She took time to recover from malnourishment, but she gained a lot of weight and is now a strong granny .

📍Facts about her: At first, she was terrifired of water we aren't sure why. She eventually grew to be more comfortable and enjoys an occasional bath. She only speaks Thai, unlike most of our elephants whicn understand karen commands. She's very picky with food.

👉How to recognise her: She has a very bony bake; Her head seems like it is caving in; The sides of her head are very digged; she has no teeth left .

🐘JARUNEE🐘💕
👉Jarune is the name of a Thai actress.👈

📍BORN : 1970, in Chiang mai.

🧳BACKGROUND: She started her life in the logging industry and then worked in trekking camps in Sangklaburi.

ℹ️RETIREMENT: Jarunee came to us in april 2016. She spent most of her life with only few people around her and did not interact much with elephants. She can be shy around people and in general she doesn't enjoy socializing the much but she has slowly bonded with Nawpo. Jarunee is actually owned by the same Karen family as Chaichana, our bull elephant.

ℹ️Facts about her : She is stubborn :She not very sociable and can sometimes be a bit aggressive is she feels overwhelmed; She's vigilant and cautious .

🚩How to recognise her : She has very peculiar brown eyes;
She can definitely look like she is pregnant when she is eating; She has a long and pretty tail

🐘NEMOCHI🐘💕

💕Nemochi means Money in Karen language

📍BORN: in atrekking camp in 1994, in Sangklaburi.

🧳BACKGROUND: Nemochi spent the frist 20 years of her life in trekking camps.

ℹ️ Facts about her: when she arrived at EW in Sept 2014, it was awonderful reunion with Gai-Na, who had also recently arrived. They had been working in the same trekking camp for many years. Nemochi is now also very close to Nor kotow and Nam Wam.

ℹ️ How to recognize her: she is our biggest / tallest female elephant; she has a mark in the middle of her trunk which looks a bit like a big scar; she has a beautifully round back; she has 2 identical orange lines on her ears.

🐘CHAICHANA🐘💞

📌BORN : in 1961, in Sangklaburi.

🧳BACKGROUND: he started his life in the logging industry and then worked in trekking camps in Sangklaburi.

ℹ️RETIREMENT: Chaichana is actually owned by the same Karen family as jarunee, who finally also brought him to Elephants World from his trekking camp in 2018, offering them both a peaceful retirement.

🧔MAHOUT: Yero has been Chaichana's mahout since 2018.
strong of their bond forged in time and trust, Chaichana only listens and trust Yero.

ℹ️About him: He loves music and will listen to Paul Barton playing the piano with great attention.

ℹ️How to recognize him : Being a male, he it quite a bit bigger than the other Elephants; He has small and warn-of tusks; He has many freckles, Which make him look much more orange

💕🐘...CHOMPOO... 🐘💕

📍BORN: 4014 in the Chang Mai province.

🧳BACKGROUND: She came to us from the North, where she was working in rice fields, alone with her owners. Because she was underfed and has a weak leg, they decided she'd be better here.

🧘‍♀️RETIREMENT : Chompoo arrived here in April 2024. She has been socialising so well since she arrived. SaiYok now has a friend his age, but most importantly the 2 friends Nor Kotow, Nam Wan are taking great care of her and have created a close nit around Chompoo.

ℹ️Facts about her : She came all the way from Chang Mai Such a long trip is very stressful for an elephant yet moments after arriving you could already see her bonding with the other elephants.

ℹ️How to recognize her : She's small, She,s very cute, perfectly shaped ears and a big orange freckle stain on her left shoulder.

👉This is Boyok👈

📍BORN: In the Kanchanaburi province.

🧳BACKGROUND: She mainly worked in trekking camps around Sangklaburi. When Boyok gave birth to Sai Yok, their owner decided they would like to find a peaceful place for them both and decided to bring both to us in April 2018, when Sai Yok was just 2 months old!

ℹ️FACTS ABOUT HER:🗣 She understands both Thai and Karen commands, she doesn't like when people go behind her and when she's eating she doesn't like to be touched.

HOW TO RECOGNISE HER: ☝️She has tiny tusks that we almost can see.✌️ She has quite a long and pink face.👌 She hasn't yet lost all that baby mama belly. 🖖 Her top right ear is slightly torn and uneven.

👉This is Kat.🐘

📍BORN: In 1967, in the Sangklaburi privince.

🧳BACKGROUND: She started her life in the logging industry and then worked in trekking camps around Sangklaburi. It was Gaina's owner who told Dr.Samart about Kat. He was able to buy her off and brought her here in 2010.

ℹ️FACTS ABOUT HER: In the past Kat didn't like to socialise and didn't like people getting around her, but it is with her that we have seen the greatest change. She won't mingle that much with the other elephants, but she has become friendly thanks to the trust and strong bond she built with her mahout. Kat likes her mahout a lot, she will always want to be close to him and she will do whatever he will ask her, she listen's very well to him.

HOW TO REGONISE HIM: ☝️She's always right by her mahout.✌️ Her skin is darker than the other elephants.👌 Her eyes are more clear.

🐘💕Nam Wan🐘 💕would translate into water (Nam)-Sweet (Wan)
📍BORN: in 2004 around the phuket province.

👜BACKGROUND: We are rescued her from a trekking camp phang Nga province .Before that, She had worked in a circus in phuket and that's why shd knows some tricks like splashing water .🏞💦

🧘‍♀️RETIREMENT :Nam Wan came to EW when she was 11.She became best friends with Nor Kotow, they go everywhere together now they got one more friend Chompoo they are very protective of each other most of food that Nam Wan like is 🍌🍉🥒🌽

ℹ️Facts about her : She's scared of water buffaloes : 🤓
She's very smart and can learn commands quite easily :😎
She only speaks Thai, not karen like most the of the others.

ℹ️How to recognise her :☝️She always has a trunk up as soon as she can to look sassy :✌️ She has spot - like looking freckles at the lower tip of her ears that look like earrings;🤟
Her freckles go around her eyes like eyebrows

It is a river that flows through our area.
Every day, our elephants will enjoy bathe and play in this river .⛰️
And one of our activities is taking elephants to play and bathe in this river. It is an activity that everyone can join us to have fun.🐘💦
