Why we do "Khao Lak Elephant Home"

One of our friends Mr.Pae, He training almost of elephant in Thailand and also in Khao Lak zone. He always see when elephant working hard and then they getting old, they have to retire but no one would like to taking care of them because they cannot work anymore. The old elephants and sick elephants would have someone to take care. Mr.Ching one of the guy who love elephant also know about this situation and would like to be someone to take care of them. We have plan for 1 year to do this program, but it not easy to do that because we have to pay for doctor, drug and special food for them. In finally we still want to do and help retirement elephant as we have many condition that good for elephant, we have 900 rai with natural as jungle, full of grass and nature food also have nurture lake for elephant bathing. One of our main reason to start Khao Lak Elephant Home is “ we would like to be the last happiness home of old elephant as long as one whole life of normal elephant can be”. Normally elephant can stay for 90 to 100 years old (The longest life in history is 120 years old) and wild elephant can stay 70 to 80 years old.
