Guess who came in today and left with our hearts ❤
Before and after removal of peridontal mass on 12 year old patient Miley.
When we got to Marley, he was wondering the street with the look of defeat in his eyes. He just stood there as if asking for one last help. His rescuer and i were able to take him to our office where he helped himself to a huge bowl of food. With alot of medical intervention due to a large gaping maggot wound on his rectum leaving him with a limp and a maggot wound covering his entire thorax, we were able to discharge him after a week into the care of his rescuers. There he got further home care and now he is back to how he is supposed to be.
Marley is a clear case of abuse and neglect. He is afraid of male humans and sticks. He is still shy but getting braver every day. 🥰

Teddy was abandoned by his owner and left to fend for himself on a rainny day. He had multiple maggot wounds, a gaping hole on his prepuce, unhealthy skin and tick fever. Thanks to his rescuers and multiple donators he had multiple surgeries and medical treatments. He is in temporary foster care and is in need of a loving home and pet parent. He is neutered and is starting off his vaccination process. #rescue

Happy Divali from all of us at South Paws Veterinary Services Ltd.
As we celebrate this auspicious day we would like to remain paw-sitive and have a pet friendly day into night.
Here are some tips to help our furry friends get by:
1. Avoid the use of fireworks or noisy paraphernalia near or in the proximity of animals. If possible avoid all usage.
2. If you own a pet, secure your pet atleast two hours before expected fireworks. This allows your pet time to relax and be comfortable. Exercise pets and feed early.
3. If necessary sleep aids recommended by your vet should be given an hour before to help your pet get calm. Thunder blankets can also be used.
4. Secure pets in an enclosed area to drown out all noises eg. a room.
5. Use tvs or radios to cancel out the external noise.
6. Keep your pets as comfortable as possible.
Remember you dont have to own a pet to be mindful of the negative effects fireworks has on them.
