After your AC installation, we recommend you service the unit every 3 to 4 months in order to not void the warranty... If you cannot afford this, you can service every 6 months but use the following guidelines to clean the filters yourself every month:

Remove the filter and clean it gently with a combination of warm water and dish soap or white vinegar. Let the filter air dry completely before reinstalling it. If you have pets or allergies, consider cleaning it more frequently.

Remember servicing your units by the installer keeps the warranty on the units valid for the said period.
