On September 22, 2023 our litter Z was born from a couple UA*Krai Kristolin Quantum & UA*KATRAN Iris
‼️Our first kittens (litter A) were born on January 8, 2018. It took us 5 years to finish the Latin alphabet. What do you say, friends, did it take a lot or a little time?

Perhaps the most important problem of purebred animal breeding is genetically determined diseases. And one of these inherited diseases is congenital deafness. Determination of deafness in animals is a rather difficult task, and for this purpose a special technique for recording brainstem evoked responses to sound stimulation (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response - BAER) was developed. The BAER test is the only reliable method for diagnosing deafness recognized worldwide. In cats, the risk group for deafness is made up of white-colored animals with blue eyes and odd-eyed animals with blue and yellow eyes. Our future king KATRAN Viking has yellow eyes. Nevertheless, today he was given a BAER test.

How to do it:
1. After the clinical examination and otoscopy, the doctor relaxes the animal (light anesthesia) and subcutaneously inserts three electrodes connected to the BAER-test device.
2. Then, a packet of sound signals of a certain frequency and power is sequentially fed into the left and right ears. The signal is sent through an earpiece inserted into the cat's ear.
3. The results of the BAER test are recorded and processed by the encephalograph and stored on a computer. The owner of the cat is given an appropriate conclusion-certificate.
