Just wanted to give an update. We adopted Diego from the USPCA. He’s been with us for a little over a month now and he’s such an amazing dog. He now lives in a big compound, kids come in and out often, and he’s got a family that loves him (he previously lived on a cement slab where people threw rubbish). He’s put on weight and has gained strength. He spends his days protecting the compound, playing or chasing birds and grasshoppers, and sleeping on a soft blanket. He has allowed the kids to pet him, most of them have never pet a dog before meeting Diego. It's been sweet to watch them start to see dogs in a different light. We adore him and are thankful for places like the USPCA for rescuing animals.

As a cat enters it’s senior years, it becomes even more difficult to groom and keep itself clean.

So brush your cat frequently, brushing at least once a day, or every other day for longhaired breeds and once to thrice a week for the shorthaired cats. 🐱🐈🐾❤️

If your pet’s teeth are yellow at the gums, then it is clear they are suffering from plaque. Regular care of your pet’s teeth will prevent problems from developing, and also keep your pet healthy and happy. 😺🐶
Whether you are using chew toys, bones or brushing teeth, make an effort to practice daily dental care for your cat or dog at home, or at least thrice weekly. Some dental care is better than none! Proper dental care can extend your pet’s life!!

Healthy eating and exercise is just as important for your pets as it is for you! Obesity in a pet can have the same adverse effects as obesity in humans.

Common disorders associated with excess weight include Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and many forms of cancer. So let’s celebrate Pet Obesity Awareness Day by making a commitment to the best health of both you and your pet! 🐾

High protein sources like beef, fish and eggs build muscle, while cat and dog approved fruits and vegetables are natural sources of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are healthy for your pet.

The old axiom “you are what you eat” applies to pets as well as to humans, so choose high quality foods for your cat or dog’s optimum health.

Do something nice today like volunteering for an NGO like Uganda Society for the Protection and Care of Animals, donating to animals or people in need, treating someone (or your pet) to dinner, making someone laugh, offering a helping hand or taking your dog(s) for a walk!!
