“You guys, this is going to be a longer post than I ever posted. Get some popcorn and a drink. Here goes. I really have to hand it to Dr. Casi, Jada, and the rest of the crew at Whittington Veterinary Clinic. But before I go into how they totally impressed me today by their care and dedication towards Madison, let me explain why we, or should I say, Madison, chose them. Before we started going there, we had another vet here in Abbeville. No, I will not name them as this is not a blasting post, but rather an uplifting post. Anyhow, we were going to this particular vet. One day, Madison and I were headed to a friends house. As we are about to pass by her vet, I remembered I forgot to grab something. I casually turn around in their parking lot. I noticed when I pulled in, Madison, who is usually sitting up soaking up the a/c or standing and slobbering on the dash while creating her nose art on the windshield, sorta sits back and lowers her head. After making our U-turn and get back on the road, she gets back up and continues about her merry self. I told her message received and promised her that we would not go back to that doctor as long we had options and she didn't need to go. Well, let's fast forward a few years, or rather half a decade. Her ni**le tumor needs operation. Whittington Veterinary Clinic was highly suggested by my family. I tell Madison we gotta go somewhere for her to get treated, and that this is a new place for her and if she doesn't like them, we will not return after they have completed whatever course is needed for this situation. We go, they check her out, she has her mastectomy, and gets mandatory 6 weeks in the cone of shame along with a list of medical instructions. During this 6 week period, she manages to rip a couple staples and her back leg starts to swell. We have to go back to her doctor to get checked out and whatnot. We make our way there, cone of shame and all. Now she is not one for sitting calm at the beginning of a car ride because she is always excited to go for a ride, so a little excitement was expected for the journey, and I was not let down. But when I tell you guys, the excitement she displayed as we turned into their parking lot and she realized where we were. OH MY WORD! I don't even recall the last time she was that excited to me, unless I had a cheeseburger in my hand for her. I was blown away. I knew she didn't just like them here, she loves them! I said, "Well, I guess you have picked your doctors and nurses." And every time we have gone back, she gets so excited when we pull in the parking lot. The fact that Madison has picked them simply has me sold. Now onto what impressed me today. So we went this morning for test and after all was said, we were given a prescription that I would be able to pick up from our local Walgreens. I waited for the text from the pharmacy to notify me it was ready. I waited and waited. Around 3:30, I said I better call and check and see. Maybe they got my number wrong. I got busy at work and time slipped away from me. I looked and noticed it was nearly 5:00. I called the pharmacy and was informed that they did not have any prescriptions to be filled for me. I said check under Madison and that it was for my dog from Whittington Veterinary Clinic. The lady replied, "oh they usually phone their orders in and we just learned our phones have been out most of the day." GREAT! I got off the phone and called the vet. They were now closed and the phones were going to the automated messages. I was not really mad, but more so upset and concerned about Madison. Now she could not get her meds until Monday. I reached out to someone and informed them what all was going down. They somehow got in touch with a someone, who got in touch with someone, who got in touch with someone, and so on. I'm not sure how far down the line it went, but end of the story. After hours, they still made the call to get Madison's script called in so that by tonight, Madison would be on the new meds she needs. Madison is my baby girl. My heart. My life. You all know this. What they have done for her during this whole ordeal, and more so today, I just cannot express how much it means to me. If any of you have pet in need of medical assistance, or maybe just a yearly visit, and you are looking around for a vet, I would like for you to call Whittington Veterinary Clinic and experience what I have with them. Better yet, let your fur baby experience what ever it is that has Madison wagging her nubby tail and dancing in the car in the parking lot when we get there. They have been amazing though out this wild ride. I am so lucky Madison chose them.”
