“Dutty” is a very nice gelding with good looks to go with his pleasant temperament. He has a solid western foundation, can go in a snaffle bit, shanked bit, go bitless or even bridle-less if you choose! He knows how to neck rein, and how to work off of leg and seat. Dutty prefers an indirect rein rather than direct contact, but would come around with some more work. He is more whoa than go, and is even a bit lazy to be honest. He will occasionally toss his head or swish his tail when asked to pick up a trot or canter, but this has been getting less common as he is being worked consistently and learning how to have some work ethic. Dutty has a nice soft slow western jog, a nice trot, and smooth western lope. He picks up both leads nicely, and can do a little slide stop if asked properly.

He is trail safe alone, but does go out a bit more confidently with a friend. He has no buck, bolt, rear or kick in him. On the trail he can be a little looky. If he does startle he spooks in place or will take one or two steps forward. Crosses water, will go over a downed tree, and over ditches. He was mostly trail ridden for the last year with some obstacle course work and some arena work.

Dutty has good ground manners, will stand tied or cross tied to groom, tack, bathe, and for the farrier without issue. He can be a little slow to load in the trailer, but this is also being worked with at the moment. Beginner safe with a trainer, otherwise I would recommend him as an intermediate horse because of his work ethic quirks, and the western buttons he has. He would do best in a home that wants to ride and stay busy with him as he is curious, willing, has lovely movement and a ton of potential.

UTD on everything, currently in front shoes but has also gone barefoot in the past, will stay in full training until he finds his forever home.
