Their facility was directly impacted by Hurricane Helene's flooding and destruction.

Please note that BWAR informed us there are some scammer accounts that are pretending to be them. We will make sure the money gets into the correct hands.

Thanks to our generous clients, we raised $257.60 for Piedmont Animal Rescue last week!

After speaking to the organization, we used those funds to purchase 11 leashes/harnesses (and the company we bought those from matched each item to send to a dog rescue). We also purchased 17 lbs of cat litter, 2 bags of puppy food, and 24 cans of kitten food.

Seeing the devastation after Hurricane Helene has been difficult; we know you probably feel overwhelmed, too. It's hard to know what to do to help. We wanted to do something to let the people who have lost everything know we care. We also wanted to partner with local organizations, the boots on the ground who live there and know best how to serve the needs of the people and animals they work with. We will be raising money for different organizations in the coming weeks, starting this week with a focus on Piedmont Animal Rescue - PAR

Cody (and helper) are at the shop early in the morning several days a week, making sure the each dog gets a great bath. He also helps out with other areas of the shop, including mowing and keeping things looking good. He enjoys working with the dogs, and working with family while doing so.

Cody enjoys all things tech, and is a wizard at working with computers and gadgets. And speaking of wizards and early mornings, when asked for a quote, he told us that "a wizard is never early nor late; he arrives precisely when he means too." Hopefully he's not about to take a journey through Middle Earth and will stick with all the furry friends he's made. :-)

Dogs and their humans are invited for this annual get-together. There will be treats for the dogs and humans. Visit with dog-friendly, community businesses.

All donations collected during the Pup Crawl benefit the Aberdeen Area Humane Society and the Pet Rescue League.

We love 4-H and we think the clubs we have here are wonderful! We were happy to show these young people what dog grooming is all about, and to help at the Brown County Fair.

A lifelong North Dakotan, Julie manages our appointment and booking from Bismarck, North Dakota. She also helps manage other aspects of the shop's online presence and client management. If you've sent a text to the Dog Shop, you've had her on the line. And, if you've ever received a hand-drawn card from The Dog Shop, Julie was behind it.

As a freelance artist, writer, and virtual assistant, The Dog Shop is one of her client high points. "It gives me a chance to work directly with people every day, which is a nice change from my other freelance work!" she said.

We can't forget to mention that it also gives her a chance to work with her sister Janet, who owns the shop. And, for our many cat clients out there, rest assured that Julie understands. She has two cats of her own.

Originally from Texas but now a solid South Dakotan, Savanna is our receptionist who greets you when you come in the door. She's also been known to help out with bathing, inventory and supplies, managing, and making sure the shop is sparkling clean.

When asked what she loves about working at The Dog Shop, her answer is simple: "Who doesn't want to go to 'work' and love on dogs all day! I'm so blessed."

Savanna loves working with The Dog Shop crew, and also loves to work with her mother-in-law Janet, who owns the shop. Life is busy, but spending time with family is built-in to her job. And every once in a while, little Finnley comes in to "supervise" and make sure everyone has their cute overload for the day, just in case the cute dogs weren't enough.

We're starting to see dogs come in with ticks, so it's time to remind you that as wonderful as the warm weather is...these pests come with it. Be sure to visit your veterinarian for flea and tick protection to avoid tick-borne diseases. And remember: we require your dog to be treated for fleas/ticks at least two days prior to their appointment. This is especially important for larger dogs that spend time outside. Otherwise, there may be additional fees.

Hannah has been a bather at the dog shop for nearly two years, and is currently in training to be a groomer. She loves autumn and Christmas, as well as hanging out with friends, playing video games, knitting, and of course, spending time with her dog.

One of her favorite things about working at The Dog Shop is getting to know each furry client better. "Over time, you can see their real personalities come out!"

Learning new techniques at the shop—like how to calm a nervous dog or get the perfect fluffy, clean look—makes her feel good at the end of the day.

Booking an appointment with Hannah is just around the corner, so stay tuned!

While our philosophy of care is always humanity over vanity and we will remove mats due to the danger they pose to your pet's skin, if the coat is in good shape, we absolutely love to do a fun and fluffy cut! Cutie Kara wanted fluffy legs, and so we decided to let her start a retro trend.
