Summerfield, owned by Mr and Mrs Tommy Serio, specializes in the training of young horses and rider at all levels, for the hunter/jumper disciplines.

Summerfield is a hunter/jumper equestrian facility, specializing in training young hunters and jumpers, from starting on the ground and bringing them up through the top levels of sport. Tommy Serio has been a professional trainer and rider for decades, with numerous championships and "Horse of the Years" to his name. Summerfield is based just 5 minutes south of Southern Pines, NC, in the summer mo

nths, and Loxahatchee Florida, in the winter months. We always have a nice selection of horses available for sale.

Somebunny has been a wee bit slow reporting Summerfield's horse show results, so today is the day!

We have been to 2 shows, Tryon Riding & Hunt Club 94th Annual Charity Show and to the NCHJA 40th Annual Charity Show, where we all came home 10 pounds thinner, due to the heat!

This was the first time in the Adults for Mrs. Sharon Winnie, after a 4 year hiatus contesting that division.

KANNSTAKKO:
2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 7th in the Adult Amateur 36-49 Hunters, and 7th in the AA Classic.
This was also the first time for Mrs. Heather Bak riding in the Adults after several year's hiatus, and moving from Rusty Stirrups at WEF 2022, to AA's in 3 short months!

Congratulations to all of our owners, horses and riders on really terrific horse shows. We simply could not do all of this without our fabulous staff- Armondo, Raymondo, Arturo, Charlotte Cannon and Amy in NC, and Jesus holding down the farm in Florida! We so appreciate all of you!

It was a quick, but productive show at Sandhills Triangle Horse Show at the Carolina Horse Park for Summerfield. It was a nice venue to bring some babies that have never shown, and some just got to hang at the show and be sponges, while a few others were showing. We can't thank our grooms,, staff, clients and mostly, the horses, for all they do!

In the Professional Division:

ADORABLE Z: CHAMPION USHJA 2ft9
"Z" is owned by Mrs. Bridget Allen and was piloted by Tommy Serio, for a clean sweep of the division!

SUNDAY BEST: CHAMPION BABY GREEN
"Sonny" was champion at his very first show! He is owned by Mr. & Mrs. Tommy Serio, and piloted by Tommy Serio over jumps, and Kathy Serio in the under saddle!

CHAMBOURCIN: RESERVE CHAMPION BABY GREEN
"Chet" is owned by Mr. & Mrs. Mark and SHaron WInnie, and ridden by Tommy Serio.

CASADOBLE:
1st, 3rd, 4th, 4th and 4th in the combined Performance 3ft/3ft6 Hunter Division. . "Clayton" is owned by Mr. & Mrs. Mark and Sharon Winnie and was ridden by Tommy Serio

A few babies simply got to learn the horse show "thang" and were wonderful at the relaxed facility of the Carolina Horse Park- way to go Gally and Bosun!

Time for the Weekly Wrap Up for Summerfield's first post- WEF show, at Tryon Spring 1...

Tryon is always a good time, and this week did not disappoint and we all know horse showing is hard- it's a marathon, not a sprint...

CHAMBOURCIN:
First time contesting the Baby Green Division, he ended up 1st. 3rd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. He is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Mark and Sharon Winnie and ridden by Tommy Serio.

RESERVE CHAMPION: Amateur Owner 3ft6 Hunter Division and won the AO 3ft3/3ft6 Classic. He is owned and was ridden by Mrs. Kathy Serio.

DICAPRIO:
He was 2nd, 6th and 7th, in the Low Adult Hunters. He isnkwmed by Ms. Paige Wilson and ridden by Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson for the first time at this height!

We also had a few non showing horses, learning the ropes in the beautiful backdrop of Tryon.

We had several new beginnings so far this year- our fearless leader back at the helm, a new "Ass-istant Trainer", Skylar, learning the ropes (AKA learning to sit on a golf cart all day), and many new babies that have never shown, so it has been a whirlwind...

We can't keep the wheels on the bus without our fantastic staff, here in Florida, Loren Hazard-Daniel, Armando and Raymondo at the show, and Pablo, MK Hill at the Florida home barn, with Jesus Perez and the North Carolina farm- it takes MORE than a village!
