I get asked a lot of questions on proper play. This is a great example of proper play. Neither dog overly bullying the other and both engaged and encouraging the interactions.

Training Tip: teaching your dog to go to his bed/matt can be a very useful tool. Here Oakley is working on “place”. She is learning how to do it for us and not just at home for her parents.

Training Tips: Continuing from last weeks video here the pup is a little older, since we increased distractions (outside and road traffic) we have increased our rate of reward a little quicker again.
Notice still no leash. Although if you are unsure if your dog will stay with you please hold a leash loosely or let them drag a leash you can step on if she starts to leave you.
Teaching your pup to walk by your side and focus on you shouldn’t involve pulling on the leash. The video below shows how to start a pup by rewarding and luring initially. This is a great way to feed them their meals. Notice there is no leash.
