Mazie Grace Raines
March 12, 2008-July 3, 2024

We had the privilege of caring for this furbaby for 16 years. I prayed for an entire year before we got a pet. I would send my husband random emails with pictures of Westies trying to convince him I needed something to love. He jokingly said, โ€œWhat about me??โ€. He finally gave in to my craziness. ๐Ÿ˜Š We were hooked from the moment we saw her. She has been our adventure buddy, lovebug, companion, and fierce protector. Who else could you get to lay on your forehead to reduce a fever?? Dr. Mazie to the rescue! Where we went, she went. The 3 of us were a package deal.

She loved to watch movies and tv shows with us. Her favorite movie was Jurassic Park (funny right?). She watched intently and when the dinosaurs ran, she ran. Her illness / death came as a shock to us however we cannot complain. The Lord gave us this perfect ball of fur for a very long time.

We are going to miss the way she snuggled with us at bedtime, rang the bell to go to the bathroom, and stomped her paw in excitement to get her dental treat. Our house is very quiet now but the sound of her paws will always be heard.

This is the 3rd pup Faithful Pets has cared for and we are grateful for their service.

Daisy Somers

On August 19, 2018 my neighbor across the street called my husband over to her house. She said "David, I hear a puppy crying in my building". She said she couldn't get to it. So my husband climbed in and pulled out a beautiful Great Pyrenees puppy. We made the decision that we would take the puppy so she would go to a good home. I had seen the Great Pyrenees mom and she was a stray. Daisy's mom and brother were rescued by another family.

Daisy grew up and her max weight was 160 pounds. Unfortunately Cancer took Daisy before her 6th birthday. Daisy was an amazing dog. She was extremely sweet, caring and loving. Daisy always liked to escape our yard and explore the roads near our house. We are so grateful for the time we had with Daisy. We just wish it were longer.

Thank you Faithful Pets for bringing our dog back to us. She was cremated and will be placed with us forever.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Daisy and her sweet family. She was loved well and played a special role in her family that will be greatly missed.

Chance Celesky

Chance came into our lives when he was just one year old on Dec.2, 2007. At the time, our children were 10yrs old and the twins were 11 yrs old. We had just moved to Ft. Bragg, NC for our next duty assignment and we felt they were responsible enough so off to rescue a fur baby for them. As we walked into the Raeford Kill Shelter, there were hundreds of dogs, stacked in crates in this huge open barn. Lord how were we ever going to find them a puppy! After walking just a few feet, my husband said, "Look at this stupid looking dog with two different eyes." The kids instantly fell in love with this sweet beagle mix who had a blue eye and a brown eye. My heart instantly melted and I just knew that he was our new addition!! He had so much energy when we got him but that was ok....the kids did too! Especially our son who instantly became best friends with Chance. We asked the kids, "What would you like to name him? They said, "Let's name him Chance since we are giving him a second chance at life!"
Chance did 8 military moves in 17 yrs. With each duty assignment, he was always so excited to meet new friends...humans and dogs alike. He has helped us raise our 3 kiddos into beautiful adults. When they would come home to visit, Chance would instantly start crying because he was so excited to see them and would shower them with kisses. We don't know who was more excited to see each other, Chance or the kids!!
To say he was part of our family is a gross understatement. He was a part of us and as I sit here writing this, I can't help but to smile and weep. Our world is a little less brighter with him gone. We miss his smile, his excitement for treats, and his "tippy taps" at night when we were sleeping as he had become restless with his arthritis. He loved road trips and we were able to go on one last road trip with him. He was so excited but we knew this would be the last one as on the way home, he seemed to shine just a little less. Little did we know that within a week of returning home, we would have to say goodbye to our sweet boy. A few days after we said goodbye, we took the time to post on our social media about his passing. Hundreds of friends and family shared photos of our sweet Chance and their time with him. He made such an impact on so many people that we feel as if an angel has left us.
Thank you for taking such good care of him before you returned him to us. We love the box that he came home in and also thank you for the lock of hair. I wish you could've known this precious soul. Our lives will never be the same without his sweet smile in our life.

Princess Clover Haga Ball 3/3/2010 โ€“ 10/16/2023

Oh my beautiful, sweet girl. Five weeks after losing Samme, you decided to go be with him leaving me broken beyond words. You were my world, my breath, my heartbeat, my everything. It has taken me so long to find the words to honor you. From the moment I seen those gorgeous brown eyes I knew I had to have you. I am so thankful the rescue chose me to be your momma. To being found tied to a tree on a walking trail, being on IVs for days to nourish your little starved body, to emergency surgery to save your life from a bowel inception, you were such a fighter and the joy of my very existence. You were the happiest when you were with me. At night you had to be snuggled up against me. You had the most amazing, soft fur and those brown eyes spoke to my very soul. The way you would lay your beautiful face on the back of the passenger seat of my car gazing at me with those soulful eyes. Clover, you had me wrapped around your precious paw. You went everywhere with me and I could not imagine my life without you there. Losing you, I lost a huge part of me. You were my soul dog! Oh the places/adventures we went, the friends you made along the way, baby girl you touched so many lives. I see you in the beautiful sunsets my pretty girl. I love you with all my heart Miss Clover. Take care of Sparky and Samme until I am reunited with you my love. I miss you terribly.

Frodo Long

Our beloved Frodo has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He graced our lives for almost 20 years and gave us so much joy, comfort, laughter, companionship, and, most of all, pure unconditional love. His passing leaves a Frodo-shaped hole in our hearts. In memory of our sweet Frodo Baggins, we've curated 21 captioned photos to honor his two decades of life (When we rescued him in 2005, our vet said he was at least a year old, maybe two, at that time, so he was either 20 or 21). 2018 was Mr. B's big year. He became a little bit famous in his old age, starring in the Margaret B. Mitchell Spay/Neuter Clinic's Christmas card and catching the eye of a graphic artist, Susan Ruff Sullivan, who was captivated by his big eyes and requested the use of his image for a t-shirt design. She said it was as if his eyes held the galaxies of the universe. We are very grateful to the God of the universe for sending such a precious furry little angel into our lives to warm our laps, purr us to sleep, and radiate love throughout our little corner of the galaxy.

Sassy Lowry

We recieved our little Dog Sassy's remains today from Faithful Pets. She passed away last week after a long and joyful life. She was the Mother of ten puppies who also brought much joy to many families over the years. Sassy loved her walks and car rides hanging out the passenger side window and would always draw attention to herself and get many compliments. She now sits on the other end of the Rainbow Bridge waiting for Ms. Karen her best friend along with Rachel who loved her so much and always kept her in shape with long walks around King College and East Hill Cemetary. Thank you to Faithful Pets who has always provided a Special service with what they do and is such a first class orginization along with Ferguson Animal Hospital who helped send her on her way to Heaven.

Marty Lowry and Family.

Samme Haga Ball 01/29/2010 - 9/5/2023

Oh, handsome boy, where do I even begin. Samme was an 11th hour save from a local shelter. I seen his photo posted on Facebook and his terrified face absolutely broke my heart. I kept watching his post and no one ever showed any interest in him. The day I rescued him, they had pulled his paperwork, unlocked his kennel and were getting ready to take him to the back. Praise the Lord I was in time and this handsome fellow became part of my family. It took Sam several years to learn it was okay to be a dog and play with toys. He always met me at the door or in his later years, he would be lying on the porch waiting for me and as soon as he seen my vehicle, he would come running and talking up a storm as I got out of my vehicle. I was as happy to see him as he was to see me. I would ask him how his day was, and he would throw that handsome face back and just talk up a storm to me. He knew exactly what I was saying, and he was trying his best to tell me everything. He had the softest fur, and the most expressive blue and brown eyes. I was always told dogs like him could see Heaven and Earth. I called him my derpy boy because those pretty eyes and big ole ears could always bring a smile and a laugh. He loved the snow, was selective in the dogs he played with, loved hiking, playing in the lake and with the water hose, yet he hated getting a bath. He loved being with and beside me. I loved him being with me, beside me and my toes in his fur. He was the absolute sweetest fellow in the world and I am so glad I made that life-saving decision to bring him home. He is missed beyond words. Samme had the most amazing presence and life just isnโ€™t the same without him. In his last days, Samme loved lying outside in the sun. He took in the smells, the sounds of the birds chirping, the feel of the breeze blowing his fur and saying goodbye to all he knew here on earth. IN my heart I know he was soaking it all in so he would always remember his time here. I enjoyed being still there beside him just basking in his presence. I love you buddy boy and miss you beyond words. Thank you, Faithful Pets, for your kindness, caring and taking such good care of my sweet boy. Run free at the Rainbow Bridge sweet Samme. I love you to the starโ€™s pretty boy.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Samme and his owner, Shelia. His rescue story is inspiring and we have no doubt he lived each dayy with joy and love.

Willow Rohr

4/20/2013-1/18/2024

Willow was one of the sweetest most nurturing cats there ever was. No one was a stranger to her. She loved everyone. She was the queen and she knew it. Her and her brother, Loki came to live with us shortly after we bought our home in July 2013. We just couldnโ€™t wait to have them home. Over the last 10 and a half years we have brought many new fur babies home, chicks, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, more cats, snakes and a rabbit. Willow would lay and snuggle with the guinea pigs every day, and would always check in on the chicks we raised, never offering to hurt them. They were all her babies. Willow especially loved her daddy, she hopped in bed with him every morning when I got up for work. She also loved talking on the phone with her papaw. As soon as she heard his voice on speaker she came running and making her little Willow noises. Willow, we miss you so much. Autumn, Ember, Lil Cup, Freyja and especially Loki misses you too. Our home isnโ€™t the same without you. We love you and always will. Furever in our hearts.

Sir Luncefordโ€“Clark, born on January 7th, 2008, peacefully passed away at home on January 20th, 2024. Survived by his human familyโ€”Dad Alan K Lunceford Jr., Mom Lyn (Gerilyn Clark-Lunceford), big brothers Xavier (Zay) Lunceford, and little Alan Lunceford IIIโ€”he was more than a pet; he was our cherished fur baby, or as his brothers would say the #1 son!

Sir loved to travel, cuddle, play, and visit his Nana and Papas, enjoying time with fur buddies Tucker and Tater. Bossy at times, he had a habit of conning family and friends for extra treats, loves, and cuddles.

Many express that Sir was more than a pet; he was like a person trapped in a little white Pomeranian bodyโ€”smart, stubborn, persistently loving, and caring. In his youth, he performed tricks, danced, and had a habit of teaching his fur friends begging dance tricks in exchange for treats.

Sir had favorite toys, cherished gifts from his brother Zay and uncle Chris, including Zay bird and the beloved pink hippo called humpy. Sir brought love into our lives, comforting us in times of illness or injury. He enjoyed car rides, looking at Christmas lights, and running outside in his younger days. As he aged, he preferred groomers' bandanas, showcasing them with joy. We'll miss the way he made us smile, laugh, and his unique personality.

He danced, ran in circles, and played, cuddling up next to us or demanding attention. His favorite snack, chicken nuggets, was the last thing he enjoyed. Sir, our best friend, left a void that can never be replaced. We miss his sounds, presence, and unconditional love.

For Sir, We love you and selfishly wish you were still here, snuggled up seeking affection. Deep down, we know it was your time to cross the rainbow bridge, and we find comfort in knowing you're free from suffering. We're eternally grateful for the love and memories you brought into our lives.

Words can't express how lucky we were to have you. You got us through ups and downs, teaching us patience, kindness, and compassion. You were one of a kind, and we feel lost without you. Your paw prints will forever be in our hearts. We love you, Sir!

โ€œChulo Dannhardt
Gone too soon. You'll forever be in my heart.
3.15.13 to 12.4.23
Chulo was taken in as a rescue in 2013. He was the cutest little cat you'd ever seen, a dapper fellow. He knew his name so well that 'Chulo,' which is Spanish for 'Handsome,' suited him so well. At the age of 15, Chulo was sincerely my first cat, a responsibility I took dearly. He was always following me, whether it'd be to the restroom, the kitchen, bedroom and even sometimes outside. He had always wanted to be around me - a true cuddle bug. His favorite thing was to give you a little head butt and ask for kisses. He knew when someone was sad and always wanted to be the center of attention when it came to new people. He just loved to share the love. Though most of all, he was my emotional support animal helping me through so many dark thoughts. He was a life saver and was the main man when it came to getting a person's mind off things. I love you chulisimo. He was the best baby. I hope people can see that in him, too.

To my baby that left too soon,
You were the best cat I could ask for. The time you spent with me was amazing and you were always there. Thank you for being there and helping me when I was down. Never did I try to think I'd loose you. I lost you too soon, but you are no longer in pain. You put up with my antics and even danced with me. You were always wanting to cuddle when I was sad and helped me with dark thoughts. Thank you handsome boy for being amazing. I pray youโ€™re happy and giving them squirrels hell. I love you.โ€
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Chulo and his family. Chulo was a great companion and had such a fun and sweet personality.

At Faithful Pets, we know the role a pet plays in a family is unlike any other, and the loss of a pet impacts the lives of those who loved them most. We have a difficult job, but one thing that makes our job a little better is when families share with us how much they love their pets, how their pet joined their family, and some of the characteristics and memories of their pets that made them special.

We would like to invite families to share with us stories about their pets that have passed. Whether that be a funny story, a rescue story, some of your favorite memories with them, or anything else you would like to share. If you would like, you can also share one of your favorite photos of them. You can share this story with us through email at [email protected], and with your permission, we would like to share that story here on our page. Additionally, you can submit a pet tribute through our website at https://www.faithfulpets.net/memorials These tributes would be uploaded to our website to be viewed directly on there.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions. ๐Ÿ™‚

โ€œBentley Collins September 4, 2014 - August 24, 2023 Gone too soon

Bentley joined our family at 11 weeks old right before Thanksgiving in 2014! Bentley was our first furbaby a Jack Russell Terrier! Bentley was a Christmas gift for our son who at the time was in first grade. Our son is now in the 10th grade. Bentley was the best behaved dog. He had such love for his family! Bentley was a son, brother and grandson and greatly loved by our entire family and by many on social media who had never met him! He was the most gorgeous speckled butt goodboy! Most importantly Bentley gave us a better understanding of dogs! We learned about a dog's personality, love and affection. We soon realized Bentley would grow our soul and love for all the animals. Bentley completely changed us in all the good ways! Bentley's Mommy would love everyone to know that Bentley was with her through many surgeries and illnesses. Bentley thought he was the cure and he certainly was! Bentley's Mommy's favorite quirks were how smart of a boy he was, how he would drag his leash out for us to find when we would arrive back home as if we had forgotten to take him with us, how he would get Mommy's shoes but, never chew them just another way of saying "hey you forgot to take me with you", no matter who was coming in the door with Mommy Bentley would always bounce out the door tag Mommy first to make sure she returned, all the times of sharing McDonald's breakfast together his nose was always in search of that McDonald's brown bag breakfast, he was Mommy's shadow! We both had separation anxiety away from each other. Bentley's Daddy's favorite quirks were when Bentley heard the Life 360 alert tone for Daddy's arrival home Bentley would bolt to the front door, squeal to the highest of all squeals, turn into a living squeaky toy and paw the door for Daddy to hurry inside, our nightly popcorn eating and giving Daddy the best sugars everyday. Daddy was the only one that could hold Bentley like a baby nightly before bedtime! Bentley acted like a human in many ways! Connor Bentley's brother provided a great comfort to Bentley during their summers off together, Bentley loved to enjoy Doritos with his brother! Doritos were his favorite food! Connor and Bentley grew up together and we are so thankful for all the videos and photos we have proving so! Connor and Bentley enjoyed football together and even jumping on the trampoline together if you can picture that! Bentley was a very healthy dog never having to go to the vet for anything other than vaccinations and check ups. In August of this year Bentley collapsed at home and was diagnosed with an aggressive blood cancer called hemangiosarcoma. We almost lost Bentley on Day 1 of diagnosis. After the grim diagnosis of hemangiosarcoma we were told if we proceeded with surgery Bentley wouldn't survive the surgery, or only buy us a few days maybe weeks. With our vet we made the difficult decision to put Bentley to rest the next day. Our family spent an entire night knowing the next day we had to put our baby to sleep. Of course during all of this Bentley was closely monitored in the vet ICU. Two hours before we were to put Bentley to sleep the vet called stating Bentley was jumping 4 feet in the air typical Jack Russell style so, we made the decision to bring Bentley home with medications to have more time together. We had Bentley for 5 additional days. We are so thankful for those 5 days. We were able to love on our boy, give all the good foods and say our goodbyes. Bentley changed our lives for the good in so many ways. At the end we wanted to tell everyone "never get a dog" because this is the worst thing we have ever weathered through. However, now we will say as family get the dog they are worth the heartache in the end.
