With so many amazing fish available to us, I think we sometimes take for granted the “common” fish. A tank full of variatus platys making lots of babies with no heater! This tank runs at 69-70 degrees

Sunday funday in the fishroom with my boys! Cleaning filters, scrubbing off algae from the glass, and patiently waiting to scoop fish from a discard bucket. They’re cute but they are the most expensive help I’ve ever had 😂

Look at how well the babies, from the Julidochromis, camouflage against the rocks. Not sure how long they have been out before I noticed them

New breeding project in the SWA fish rooms, Xenotilipia flavipinnis. This a mouth brooding cichlid from lake Tanganyika with an interesting behavior. The female holds the fertilized eggs and then passes off the fry to the male who holds them until further developed. Hoping to get to see this!
