The pink-bellied side-necked turtle (Emydura subglobosa) is a recent introduction to the North American turtle keeping hobby. Its shell ranges in color from beige to chestnut brown or slate gray. The plastron can be white, pink or, in the case of especially prized specimens, bright red/orange. The skin is typically various shades of gray, with some red markings. As pink-bellied side-necks grow, their skin develops additional random red/orange markings.

While it is true that the Florida Box Turtle makes its home in the wild in damp wetlands, marshes, and open woodlands, it rarely enters deep water and remains in shallow areas. A lot of the Florida box turtles’ habitat has been severely depleted or fragmented. This, coupled with other things have lead to a great decline in its population. As of today, the Floridian box turtle is protected and considered threatened.

The Hieroglyphic River Cooter is a sub species of the river cooter (Pseudemys concinna) is a freshwater turtle native to the central and eastern United States, from Virginia south to mid-Georgia, west to eastern Texas, Oklahoma, and north to southern Indiana. They are usually found in rivers with moderate current, as well as lakes and tidal marshes.

Diamondback terrapins are turtles with concentric, diamond-shaped markings and grooves on the scutes (plates) of their carapaces (top shells), which range from medium gray or brown to nearly black.

Their skin color is a pale to dark gray or black, flecked with dark spots, blotches or stripes. The hingeless plastron (bottom shell) is yellow to green or black and may be marked with dark blotches. No two individual diamondback terrapins are exactly alike in coloration and pattern.

Peacock slider turtle’s shells are full of color and are a less common aquatic slider turtle native to Nicaragua and Costa Rica and can live 45-50 years in captivity when properly cared for.

Nicaraguan Slider turtles are very active and love to swim. While baby slider turtles for sale are mostly aquatic, these diurnal turtles also enjoy a dry, warm place where they can climb out and bask under a heat light making it important to have a nice floating dock basking area for your new slider turtles for sale.
