Cat Foster/adopt app https://www.jotform.com/form/200997587139168 All dogs are in foster care, while cats are can be visited at our shelter at 197 Middle Rd. We also keep most kittens and some special needs cats in foster care. We focus our effort

s on pets that wouldn’t do well in traditional shelters. Our mission extends to the Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) of feral cats, training of dogs with behavioral challenges, and education to avoid rehoming of owned animals. What makes CARE unique is that the volunteers take in older animals, sick animals, animals with behavioral issues that would not make it in a traditional shelter, etc. CARE caters to the population of animals that others find not worthy of life. CARE sees the diamonds in the rough, the tail wags beneath the sad eyes, and rehabs the animals back to being happy, healthy, confident family pets who bring so much joy to their families. Along with our sheltering and adoption programs CARE provide basic medical support to these same animals along with helping feral cats and low income folks who would not otherwise be able to keep their pets. In cases where people have found themselves temporarily homeless we have provided shelter for their pets until they have been reunited with their owners. Most of these pets would have ended up on the streets or euthanized. Imagine losing your furry family member as well as your home ? On behalf of the homeless pets we have saved and continue to save, please accept our heartfelt gratitude and thanks. We hope you will support our mission of not giving up on any animal no matter how hopeless their situation may be. We are their voice when no one else is there.

You may remember Baxter from when he was surrendered at the beginning of the year with a torn up face. That healed and then he had neuter complications that almost took him out but he is tough and pulled through that too.

Baxter has been in foster since February and is ready for his forever home!

He is about 7 years old. He is not embarked but we’d call him an american bully. He is good with all people, including kids, although older kids are preferred (10+) because he is a big ol bull in a china shop (he is 68ish pounds at a lean weight so he is a big dog despite being stocky.) He has had absolutely no issues being handled through all his veterinary care, including being in the ER for 3 days. He has acclimated well to cats and now just ignores them but he does need to be the only dog in the home. He’s been through a lot of trauma with other dogs and while we have been able to fix the reactivity on leash, hes not well suited to share a home at this time.

He is a goofy dog, a chase a butterfly around for the day kinda guy. Wrecking ball vibes. If you’re looking to spice up your life with a little (fun) chaos, he could be the man for you! With that being said, he IS happy to snooze on the couch after he gets his crazies out.

He knows basic obedience, is crate trained and house trained. Fine on leash and has a good recall. He’s UTD and neutered.

If you live in Southern New England and you’d like an application and to get more info, email us! [email protected]

Please share so maybe his people see him 🥰

Meet Ella…

SHE is a little spitfire! LOVES other kitties and dogs, although some dogs may be a bit much for her noise wise! She is so incredibly playful, loves a good brushing but still scared of loud and quick noises/movements. She needs to be in a setting that has one or more friendly cats for companionship, she is all about her feline friends and maybe a smaller more docile pup in the mix. She had a tough start in life and was trapped at only 7 to 8 weeks of age. She is a lap sitter too...and so toasty warm, no blanket needed😻
PLEASE SHARE
would love to tell her she has a new forever home🏡

⚠️ SCAM ALERT ⚠️
Last weekend, we learned that scammers are targeting pet owners with missing animals by impersonating our hospital.
Here's how the scam works:
Someone calls claiming to be from Westford Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center, saying they have your missing pet. They'll tell you the animal is injured and needs immediate surgery, then request payment through CashApp or Zelle.
While they may provide our real address to seem legitimate, we will NEVER request payment through these apps.
This happened to at least two pet owners last weekend. Fortunately, both were suspicious and contacted us directly to verify.
If you receive a call like this:
🔹 Hang up and call us directly at our official number
🔹 Do not send money through CashApp, Zelle, or any payment app
🔹 Report the incident to local authorities
Please share this warning with other pet owners in our community. These scammers are preying on people's love for their animals during an already stressful time.
Stay vigilant and stay safe! 🐾

Cruella is still eagerly waiting to be adopted!

Cruella is a lovely lady with a regal air and a fondness for high places. She can often be found perched up high, surveying her kingdom from above like the true queen she is.

Once a bit wary of humans, Cruella has made great strides—these days, she’ll even grace you with her presence on your lap for a few well-earned pets. Her affection is on her terms, of course, and that’s just part of her charm.

Cruella is looking for a cat-savvy home with people who understand that cats rule the world—and know how to respect feline boundaries. She’ll thrive in a calm, dog-free environment without young children.

If you appreciate a strong, independent cat with a touch of royalty (and a heart that’s slowly opening), Cruella might just choose you as her loyal subject.
