An all volunteer, no-kill, 501C3, non-profit
animal shelter /rescue in Massachusetts

Volunteer Application: https://form.jotform.com/caresouthcoast/volunteer-application All dogs are in foster care, while cats are can be visited at our shelter at 197 Middle Rd. We also keep most kittens and some special needs cats in foster care. We focus our efforts on pets that wouldn’t do well in traditional

shelters. Our mission extends to the Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) of feral cats, training of dogs with behavioral challenges, and education to avoid rehoming of owned animals. What makes CARE unique is that the volunteers take in older animals, sick animals, animals with behavioral issues that would not make it in a traditional shelter, etc. CARE caters to the population of animals that others find not worthy of life. CARE sees the diamonds in the rough, the tail wags beneath the sad eyes, and rehabs the animals back to being happy, healthy, confident family pets who bring so much joy to their families. Along with our sheltering and adoption programs CARE provide basic medical support to these same animals along with helping feral cats and low income folks who would not otherwise be able to keep their pets. In cases where people have found themselves temporarily homeless we have provided shelter for their pets until they have been reunited with their owners. Most of these pets would have ended up on the streets or euthanized. Imagine losing your furry family member as well as your home ? On behalf of the homeless pets we have saved and continue to save, please accept our heartfelt gratitude and thanks. We hope you will support our mission of not giving up on any animal no matter how hopeless their situation may be. We are their voice when no one else is there.

Hi friends!

Baxter here, who was surrendered to us on Wednesday, is doing well and in good spirits! Although he does need surgery to debride necrotic tissue and repair his face. As you can see, once he was cleaned up, a lot of the outer gunk fell off and exposed a lot of dead stuff underneath. This left us with a large open wound and some other areas that need to be cleaned up. The good news is that antibiotics and anti inflammatories have already brought the swelling down a ton and everything smells 100 times better despite this exposed area. Please continue to donate as the surgery will be at least 1,500 minimum but possibly more. He will also still need all his vaccines and to be neutered at a later date.

Please only use our PayPal link to donate: https://www.caresouthcoast.com/how-to-help

You can also always mail us a physical check with snail mail: CARE, Southcoast, P.O. Box 149 E. Freetown 02717

Do not use the CARE Venmo as there are accounts impersonating our rescue and we don’t want anyone to accidentally send money to the wrong account. Scammers are doing this to so many rescues right now!

Thank you!

Introducing bonded pair Emmeline and Matilda . A couple of calico cuties who need each other...Emmeline is the more confident kitty..Matilda is shy, yet absolutely loves to be brushed and pet. They both can be timid when someone enters the room and scatter into hiding .Foster mom has been working on their people skills . “I've been picking them up to cuddle daily..they don't like it, yet tolerate it.... New adopters will NEED to get a LAZER as these two go absolutely nuts..all walls are down chasing that thing!”

Besides being gorgeous long haired kittens, they are wonderful eaters, use litter box perfectly and are very sweet.. they will need a very patient household, no dogs, they Love LOVE LOVE other cats !

This big, sweet guy was surrendered to us this morning. He had an incident with another dog in the home last week and needs veterinary care urgently so we already dropped him off at the vet. We are a small rescue of only a few people and have so many vet bills but we couldn’t say no to helping this guy. Please help us pay for him to get the vet care he needs.

Paypal: [email protected]

Cks: CARE P.O. Box 149 E. Freetown 02717

As we get him healed up, vetted and learn more about him, he will be up for adoption.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our supporters here at Care. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Without your support, our mission would not be possible. If the cats could speak, they would express their gratitude as well. 😻😻😻

Meet Smudge, Rolo and Bear

Smudge is a handsome male tuxedo who loves to play with toys and his siblings. He starts purring the minute he sees his foster mom but stops when picked up. He tolerates being held and petted for a bit but he's still wiggly because he wants his play time. He's slowly being introduced to his dog big brother.

Rolo is friendly, confident and full of energy. He loves playing with his toys and siblings. He gets along great with other cats and cat-friendly dogs. Rolo is a purring machine, who'll sleep in your lap during his downtime. He enjoys being held but when it's time to play, he's ready to go do his thing.

Precious Bear is the smallest of his siblings. He's a purring little bundle of love. Once he gets to know you, he comes out of his shell and is pure joy. He likes playing with his toys and siblings, and gets along well with other cats and cat-friendly dogs. When he's sleepy, he enjoys being a lap cat .

Adopt 1,2 or all 3!

Meet Berto!
Berto is a 14 month old American Staffordshire. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, crate trained and house trained. The folks that helped him originally had him complete a 3 week intensive board and train to make him the best boy he can be. He needs some time to warm up to new people, but once he knows you he is very sweet and affectionate. He comes with a strong crate, harnesses, leashes, collars, toys. Please complete our application if interested in Berto!
