Hi everybody! I know it's been a while - doing social media for a page is an experience I'm still learning. ^.^'

The past few months have had their ups and downs. For the downs, some of my neighbors have suddenly started letting their dogs free-roam my neighborhood, and at least one has been attacking the cats in my colony. While I'm working with Animal Control for a solution, at least three of my cats have been killed in the past few weeks, and one of them - Tamara - suffered a bad enough wound that I had to catch him and take him to a surgical vet.

Fortunately he's ok now, but it did wind up costing over $700. I've launched a gofundme and am blown away by the amazing response (you raised $285!), but if anyone else would like to donate or share, the link is here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/my-cat-has-a-hole-in-his-neck-promenade-special-edition?attribution_id=sl:96a0f8d2-2bd2-4df9-8e45-a0b3635aa1f2&utm_campaign=man_ss_icons&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=copy_link

In much better news, I might need to change my profile picture because Ezri has officially been adopted! She's enjoying her new home and family, and I couldn't be happier for her.

I also have Luka in a hopefully-forever home! Luka was shy but really became social over the past few months, even coming inside a few times. Unfortunately, due to the danger of the dog attacks, I couldn't do my normal slow introduction to the indoors. As such, she's still painfully shy at her new home, but fortunately she has a very patient cat dad, so I'll try to keep y'all updated on her progress.

Finally, I've started doing something I've been curious about for a few years now: I'm fostering kittens for a rescue!

Brought to you by Pounce De Leon rescue, we have adventurous orange boi Riker, calm tortie Troi, and energetic grey tuxedo Worf (yes, I also got the honor of naming them).

Hello lovely people! Long time no talk. ^.^' My neighbor has finally finished renovating her new house and wants to come back down to pick up Dukat, who she has cared for since before I ever met him. However, both her SIL and daughter have run into medical problems - with her SIL being out of work for at least the past three months - so she has been in a rough financial spot supporting them.

As such, I want to give Dukat a full medical check-up and microchip before she comes down so as to help alleviate some of the stress on her. She's a good person who's just trying her best.

However, I'm also not in the best financial straits atm, so any monetary help with covering the exam costs would be amazingly appreciated.

Dukat is an incredibly sweet potato of a cat with one brain cell and I love him to death. I'm going to miss him, but he knew my neighbor and her partner first, and she loves him with her whole heart. And I think having him around will help with her mental health. Goodbye is the goal with fostering, so let's make his goodbye the best it can be!

Everyone, meet Twilight! Twilight was given to me just today by a 12-yr-old boy outside a gas station near my house. He was trying to do the right thing - his friend's family wasn't taking care of the kitten right, so he offered to take him home, only for his grandmother to tell him that they couldn't keep the kitten with them and their three large dogs, and to get rid of the kitten tonight. He was the one who gave Twilight his name.

After determining there were no more kittens at his or his friend's place, I agreed to take Twilight home. He's the sweetest little boy - he's spent all evening snuggling with me and purring up a storm. I'm thinking he's male, and he's already used the litterbox correctly right out of the gate, did very well for his first flea bath, and got a big meal of wet food.

Twilight has a neuter appointment set up for July 26th, and will be available for adoption immediately afterwards. Please message me or comment here if you're interested in adding this snuggly boy to your home!

Leia's asleep and hopefully dreaming of her favorite things - cuddling with her human and playing with toys!

Leia is still growing at 7 months old and is gentle-natured and VERY curious. She's spayed, has had her rabies and FVRCP vaccines, and is available for adoption!

Our third success story is Kira! Kira, along with her siblings Dax and Molly, was born in 2020 in a woodpile on my neighbor's property and first met me when the three of them followed their mother, Keiko, onto my porch so she could eat from my food bowls.

Unlike her brother, Kira was not so trusting of me. She put up the most resistance to me (hence her being named after a resistance fighter), even going so far as to leap dramatically off my porch and run for my neighbor's yard when I came out one day to feed everybody.

Fortunately I got her to come around the way I get most cats to come around - providing plenty of tasty food, sitting calmly around her, and eventually petting her while she ate. She warmed up pretty quickly after that and even started inviting herself into my house when I would open the door to enter or leave.

Since she was already making herself at home, I decided to make it official and adopted her and Dax. She now loves snuggling up against my legs and making the world's best biscuits on my comforter.

Our second success story is Dax! Dax, along with his sisters Kira and Molly, was born in 2020 in a woodpile on my neighbor's property and first met me when the three of them followed their mother, Keiko, onto my porch so she could eat from one of my food bowls.

Dax was an interesting kitten - he was never afraid of me! The first time he ever saw me, sitting on my porch reading a book, he walked up, lay down right outside of arm's-reach, and went to sleep.

Now, three years later, he is the biggest cuddlebug, always purring up a storm around me and sleeping on my chest every night. Like his namesake, he's bold, kind, and always ready for an adventure.

He has already found his forever home - my home - and my world is so much brighter for having him in it.

Our first-ever success story, from back in 2020, was Miles! Miles is a very sweet, gentle giant of a cat. He had clearly been around humans before - quite possibly an owned cat at one point - and his favorite thing to do was to come over and chill on mine or my neighbor's porches. If he was a human, I think he'd just want to kick back quietly at the bar with a beer (hence his name).

Outside life wasn't agreeing with Miles - he began losing weight, and got a nasty ear infection that was treated with help from a generous donor.

Fortunately we were able to get him neutered, get him safely inside a foster home, and get him adopted! The kind woman who adopted him actually clicked on his foster home profile because her adult son is also named Miles.

Miles is now living a happy, healthy, safe life in a loving home, and he still gets to play outside on walks!

Hello lovely people, and thank you for checking out my page! The Promenade is a cat colony I began caring for along with my neighbor back in 2020, on my days off from work. The name, along with many of my cats' names, comes from the wonderful series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, because a) it's a great series and b) two friends and I were rewatching it together remotely during the pandemic when I began caring for the cats.

I work one-on-one with all of my cats to make sure that they're fed, socialized, and healthy (I cover vet visits with my own money and with donations from generous donors).

I'll post about cats that are available, cats that I'm working with, and success stories that have happened. Thanks for coming along for ride!
