Walk + Pointer combines some of my favorites in life: photography, animals, nature, freedom, and purpose. After losing my full-time job Jan. 2018, I started walking and sitting dogs to make rent. Who would have thought this would have manifested into my calling and my passion. I absolutely love everything about what I do and I wouldn’t trade it for the world! My ultimate goal is to start a dog/cat sanctuary one day.

✨Promises were made. Promises were then delivered!✨

Camper Tony spent the past 3½ weeks with us and we promised him it would be the best one yet as this stay would be his last (at least for the foreseeable future). Our boy RigaTony and his moms are moving out to the Bay! 🌉🥹

To Tony + his moms:
We’ve only been in each other’s lives for about two years now, but it feels like so much longer. You all are so amazing in every way and I am so thankful life brought us together. Tony is literally one of our best pals and we, both two-legged and four-legged furiends, are all going to miss him so much. I actually don’t know who will miss him more, us humans, his girlfriend Tori, his senior pals, or the rambunctious small “dog” 🐈.

We are sad to see you all go, but we are also very excited for this new grand adventure. Congratulations again on this new chapter and we will see you three later in the Bay! 🫶🏻

The time has come for this beautiful girl’s first official post. Say hello to Kit-Kat (short for Kitty-Kat), our one-eyed and 8-toothed diluted calico kitty. 💕🌸

When we first met Kit-Kat about 3 years ago, she was living right outside of the front door of the lake house my parents had just bought. She quite literally came with the house. She was so unique because she had what my family believed to be two different colored eyes, brown and green. Other than her being called “Kitty” by the previous homeowner who had been feeding her, we don’t know much else about her history. She is so sweet and trusting of people, even strangers, so it’s honestly still hard for me to believe Kit-Kat was a stray.

At that time, no one was living at the lake house, so my parents set up a shelter, a food dispenser, and water bowls outside of the front door for her. They came every other week to refill it and to check on her for the 9 months the house was vacant.

It honestly didn’t take long before Kit-Kat and I grew a bond towards each other. I always made sure to sit on the front steps and give her lovings whenever I came by. That bond grew even deeper after Tripp and I moved in.

One day though, Kit-Kat was gone longer than usual after leaving for her morning walk with her furiend. Tripp and I waited for her, looked for her, and even asked our neighbors if they had spotted her to no avail. Each minute that went by, I started fearing the worse.

She ended up coming back and was okay thankfully. That very day on June 22, 2022, Tripp and I decided something. We had been waiting until after her first vet appointment, but after that scare, we decided that we didn’t want to wait any longer for her to be officially living with us.

Everyone kept telling her how beautiful she was. I hope this doesn’t get to her head 😅.

They grow up so fast! 🥹💕 to our baby girl! Daya turned 4 years old this past Monday.

We celebrated by going to our favorite park to see the waters and walk through the forest. Daya had the best time smelling everything. She’s part coonhound, so smells are very intriguing for her and tires her out. Afterwards, we got her a puppy ice cream which she licked clean. She basically became an even more potato-y 🥔 couch potato when we got home. 😴💕

Dear Molly,

It’s been a little over two weeks since you crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Since then, I’ve only had more and more I felt like I didn’t get to say. I doubt I will be able to say it all in this shortened version of this letter, but it’s something.

I wonder if you remember the first day you came into our lives. I do vividly. I had been looking for a pup to adopt for our parents and little brother while you were unknowingly on the verge of being surrendered to the shelter. It was honestly such perfect timing, it must’ve been fate. That was June 27th, 2021.

The second you met mom, I could tell you already knew you loved her by how much your eyes lit up. Since then, you’ve given us so many warm memories and moments in time that we will always keep close to our hearts.

On days when you didn’t come along to pick our little brother up from school, the first thing Andy would do after getting home was say hi to you. And the first thing you would do was your tippidy-taps to show how thrilled you were that Andy was home. I wonder if you could sense that Andy was one of your biggest advocates. After all, you two had a connection from the very beginning.

I know he’s been missing you a lot. Everyone has.

Your dad misses how in the morning, you would poke your head out from the doorway to look at him. That was your signal to him that you were awake and ready to go outside. I bet he misses teasing you too. Mom always said with you in our family, life was more lively than usual.

I know mom misses how everywhere she went, you followed. It didn’t matter if it was inside, outside, away from home, or even if it was bedtime. You were always next to her - her little shadow.

Tripp and I miss how you were always blepping and how you always licked the air whenever you were enjoying the head pats and scratches you were getting.

I want to thank you for keeping our parents and little brother company for as long as you did and for spreading joy into theirs and our lives. Thank you for loving all of us, Molly. You really were such a good girl and happy girl and we love you.

Rest in paradise sweet girl. 🕊️

Unpopular opinion: weeds are beautiful and should be embraced. 🌸🌼🌳🌿

Our “campgrounds” look like a meadow during spring and summer because we let the natural floras grow pretty generously. The wildlife 🦌🐦‍⬛, pollinators 🐝🦋, and our campers 🐕 all get to enjoy and benefit from it. It’s a win-win-win-win all around. 🫶🏻

Dear Izzy 🐻‍❄️ Bear,

I’ve been wanting to write you this letter ever since you crossed the rainbow 🌈 bridge 4 months ago. I’m sure you are having an amazing time over there with your sister Bailey and all of the new furiends you’ve made.

Your best friends here, Timber, Tori, and Kit-Kat, as well as everyone in the Senior Paws Club all miss you so much. Uncle and I do as well.

I miss how excited you’d get whenever it was time to eat. You always would sprint down the hall to beat me to the bowls. It was a little game we did and you always won. I miss how you always stopped to smell the roses whenever you were outside. It didn’t matter if we were on an adventure walk or if you were out and about on the campgrounds; it didn’t matter who you were with or if it was time to go inside, you always took your time. 🥹 I suppose you knew life was too short to not spend moments to smell all of the roses and more. I miss how much you enjoyed being brushed. I got a new grooming tool that I know you would just love.

In the 4 years that I’ve known you, I have loved you so much. You were the sweetest, most patient, and comforting little lady. I am so thankful I got to befuriend you and be a part of your life. Tell everyone up there I said hey and that they are the goodest boys and girls.

Last year, when Molly came to camp, we took her on a field trip to see some llamas 🦙 from Wit's End Llama Consortium.

The handler let us give them some love and even wanted Molly and the llamas to meet each other. Llama just say… I’m not entirely sure either one of them realized the other was there in the end. 😂

But I had an amazing time meeting llamas for the first time and can’t wait to see them again. 💕

This little cutie was one of my firsts! 🥰 I met Harper on the second day I started in this industry 6 years ago.

I remember her mom worked late at night, so I would come over to walk, feed, and spend some time with Harper. They didn’t live necessarily close to me, but both her and her mom were such a delight that I didn’t mind it. 💕 I hope they have been doing well.

I spy with my eye a little guy who wanted to say hi every time I used to walk by. 👀💕

Back when I used to walk dogs around this area, I always looked forward to walking towards this end. Because sometimes, there was a furiend waiting to say hi to me from afar. Whenever this furiend was there, I would wave to them. To this day, I still don’t know his name, but I called him Pooh. 🥰

Please send some love + good vibes to my family and little Miss Molly. 🌷🌸

Yesterday evening, we stopped by my parents’ house after hearing from my mom about Molly having some new problems. With the help of our part-timer, I inspected, clipped, flushed, and cleaned Molly’s wound as best as I could.

After her radical mastectomy last November, we thought everything would be good for a while. But sadly, it looks like her cancer had already spread by then. And now, all we can do is keep her comfortable and spoil her until it’s time for her to go. This was all confirmed as well by her vet. 🥺

We don’t know how long she has, but thankfully, she is still very much herself. Sure enough, this very good girl is going to be spoiled even more than usual. 🤍 There will definitely be more chicken 🍗 in her bowl according to her papa.
