Walk + Pointer A professional pet care service that has been serving the Greater Atlanta since 2018. I mean I loved dogs, so why not?

Walk + Pointer combines some of my favorites in life: photography, animals, nature, freedom, and purpose. After losing my full-time job Jan. 2018, I started walking and sitting dogs to make rent. Who would have thought this would have manifested into my calling and my passion. I absolutely love everything about what I do and I wouldn’t trade it for the world! My ultimate goal is to start a dog/cat sanctuary one day.

I’ve been a bit busy with life and new special projects, so I’m a little behind on posts! 😅 But…. I’m ready to get back on it. To start, here is a celebratory post featuring one of our camp counselors / resident cats, Timber, on the snowy day we had recently.

What are we celebrating exactly? Well…

just had our 7th birthday a couple of weeks ago. I am beyond grateful for all the support from my clients + friends and how much Walk + Pointer has grown and transformed into everything that it is now! I can’t wait for you all to see what I’ve been up to. 💕

I bet you didn’t know Avy is a big fan of the Walking Bread. 🍞🧟‍♀️

She had a blast staycationing at camp over Howl-o-ween weekend. Here’s how it went! Most days, we played fetch and frisbee, two of her favorite activities, on the campgrounds. We also took plenty of naps, outside on the deck with all the fresh air and autumn breeze as well as indoors on a big comfy bed. On days when it drizzled, she enjoyed looking out of the windows and just taking in the scenery. We even had a successful Howl-o-ween photo shoot! It was cute and funny how much she enjoyed wearing the bread head around. 🥰💕

Dune-bug was so excited to be back at camp. As soon as he saw me, he flashed the biggest toofy smile while frolicking his way towards me. I was actually caught off guard and busted out laughing so hard.

I hope I’ll be able to capture his toofy smile on camera during this stay. If not, I guess I have a new mission! 🤓💕

Last month, I spent a week and a half tending to my client’s newly landscaped and wildlife-certified backyard while she and her family travelled to Alaska. I always get to experience something new during my work trips here and this time was no different. Here are some of the highlights:

👩🏻‍🌾: Daisy, one of the sweetest pitbulls, is now in her old lady era and loves to sleep in untill noon. I actually had to call her for breakfast everyday.

👩🏻‍🌾: I learned about the Armenian cucumber and harvested the biggest cucumber I had ever seen! Cut down to pieces and seasoned with some soy sauce, it sustained my snacking habit for 3-4 days. This was after I solicited Tripp’s help and gave him half. I harvested more during my stay and also gave those away to ensure they don’t go to waste.

👩🏻‍🌾: I learned about ground cherries and unlocked a new favorite fruit of mine! The flavor, to me, has hints of pineapple and persimmon. Each day brought plenty of these fruits.

👩🏻‍🌾: I learned how to harvest seeds and how to determine which ones are viable. Can’t wait to put them into action next season!

👩🏻‍🌾: The tadpoles from the frog pond were in the middle of transitioning into tiny baby froggies during my stay. I was able to witness and photograph part of that process.

👩🏻‍🌾: One of my usual duties is to mix the nectar and refill the hummingbird feeders. Because there are a good amount of feeders, I usually see a lot of hummingbirds throughout the day. This time, I tried my hand and was able to successfully photograph a couple.

👩🏻‍🌾: I got to observe and photograph so many other creatures like bees, praying mantis, butterflies, dragonflies, and a variety of birds.

👩🏻‍🌾: Ozzy the Bearded Dragon and I have grown a bit closer. He seems to enjoy when I tong-feed him a couple of worms and when I sing to him. I also discovered that he might even like K-R&B. He seems to be curious every time I played it while feeding him, but that’s something I will have to keep monitoring as bearded dragons are pretty sensitive to noises.

✨Promises were made. Promises were then delivered!✨

Camper Tony spent the past 3½ weeks with us and we promised him it would be the best one yet as this stay would be his last (at least for the foreseeable future). Our boy RigaTony and his moms are moving out to the Bay! 🌉🥹

To Tony + his moms:
We’ve only been in each other’s lives for about two years now, but it feels like so much longer. You all are so amazing in every way and I am so thankful life brought us together. Tony is literally one of our best pals and we, both two-legged and four-legged furiends, are all going to miss him so much. I actually don’t know who will miss him more, us humans, his girlfriend Tori, his senior pals, or the rambunctious small “dog” 🐈.

We are sad to see you all go, but we are also very excited for this new grand adventure. Congratulations again on this new chapter and we will see you three later in the Bay! 🫶🏻

The time has come for this beautiful girl’s first official post. Say hello to Kit-Kat (short for Kitty-Kat), our one-eyed and 8-toothed diluted calico kitty. 💕🌸

When we first met Kit-Kat about 3 years ago, she was living right outside of the front door of the lake house my parents had just bought. She quite literally came with the house. She was so unique because she had what my family believed to be two different colored eyes, brown and green. Other than her being called “Kitty” by the previous homeowner who had been feeding her, we don’t know much else about her history. She is so sweet and trusting of people, even strangers, so it’s honestly still hard for me to believe Kit-Kat was a stray.

At that time, no one was living at the lake house, so my parents set up a shelter, a food dispenser, and water bowls outside of the front door for her. They came every other week to refill it and to check on her for the 9 months the house was vacant.

It honestly didn’t take long before Kit-Kat and I grew a bond towards each other. I always made sure to sit on the front steps and give her lovings whenever I came by. That bond grew even deeper after Tripp and I moved in.

One day though, Kit-Kat was gone longer than usual after leaving for her morning walk with her furiend. Tripp and I waited for her, looked for her, and even asked our neighbors if they had spotted her to no avail. Each minute that went by, I started fearing the worse.

She ended up coming back and was okay thankfully. That very day on June 22, 2022, Tripp and I decided something. We had been waiting until after her first vet appointment, but after that scare, we decided that we didn’t want to wait any longer for her to be officially living with us.
