It's that time of year! Plan ahead and schedule your spring vaccine and Coggins appointment now. If we have not drawn a Coggins on your horse before, help ensure your paperwork is on time and correct by having your horse's registered name (if needed for showing) date of birth and breed ready. We will also need to take photos of your horse, so have them clean and ready to go.

Classic Equine is excited to offer the most effective and clinically proven extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) available. Through an electrohydraulic system that generates sound waves (impulses) that travel deep into the tissues of the horse, the Pulsevet shockwave has been shown in repeatable studies to quickly reduce pain and inflammation as well as stimulate faster healing of damaged tendons, ligaments, and even bone. This gives us an effective, alternative natural treatment option for our equine companions. We're not trying to end any marriages with this... but it IS important to clean your brushes (with the appropriate tools - you decide what those are) to prevent transmission of any diseases that can be spread through contact. While it is extremely important to disinfect shared equipment when you have a sick horse (or better yet, keep their equipment isolated), it is good practice to clean all of your brushes and tack regularly as well.

It's National Veterinary Technicians week, and we want to celebrate our techs and assistants. Today we start with our Licensed Veterinary Technicians, who are integral to Classic Equine. Katie Persons is also our Office Manager and handles many of the in-clinic patient needs and assists with surgeries and MRIs, along with her other duties. Kara Dykstra is often on the road with one of our doctors or answering client questions. We are blessed as an equine practice to have two talented LVTs on our team, as many equine practices don't have any.
