Dog Creek Kennel

Dog Creek Kennel Dog Training Classes, Private Dog Training Lessons, We train dogs to be wonderful companions and family pets. Dogs are supposed to be a joy in life.

We have competed on Obedience Trials, Conformation Dog Shows, and Hunt Tests over the years since 1972. We like to have small classes in which each Canine gets the attention he needs to work well with his Human. Classes are geared toward that end, but if you are interested in competition, we have the experience to help you with that as well. We have always included games in class to make sure dogs

and people have fun. We sure think so. We still Breed Curly Coated Retrievers under our kennel name, Addidas. We have not bred but a couple of litters in the last 10 years. We will have puppies available occasionally.

I have spent hours searching the internet for the training collars that I prefer for my classes. The best I could do was $9.40 each in lots of 12. Since I live in Amish NY and we have lots of friends in the Amish community, I asked our local harness maker if he could help. We will be able to sell them retail for $6-8 plus postage. The collars are "snap" training collars. They have a ring on one end (the dead ring), a floating ring and a snap on the other end. The snap on the floating ring makes it a "choke" (a term I hate) and with the snap on the "dead" ring it is simply a collar you can leave on the dog. We should have the first batch in about 2 weeks. We will post photos when they are ready. Finally I can even get custom sizes instead of every 2".

We will continue to breed Curly Coated Retrievers under our AKC kennel name, Addidas. We could not live without at least a couple of our kinky friends. We have not had but a couple of litters in the last ten years since our move to NY. We have missed the little paws of baby Curlies around here. We do expect some pupsters this year.
As Roger Caras once said " It's not that dogs are our whole life, they make our life whole."

I am starting dog training classes with emphasis on positive rather than negative methods. My classes, as before, are limited to 8 students and their handlers. I want to teach "Canine" to "English" speaking dog owners. I have taught for years but have not for a while as we dealt with our move to NY. I really miss my classes that I taught since 1972. We always had fun in the classes by the addition of games as part of the learning. I am willing to do private lessons as well if a dog needs more attention.
