Bowbi and the Fun " Find It" game!
Leaving treats in plain view or hiding them for your dog to FIND is a Great way to make anything FUN!
The dogs waiting on the other side of the door and each dog got a turn. .As each came in to FIND IT, they would go to their crate when their turn was done, to find a treat in their crate for them.
Once All of the dogs had their turn and had waited patiently and quietly for each to crate up, they ALL got one more treat.
It's important to Always Reward Good behavior so that they start to develop a positive association to whatever it is they are being taught .๐๐

Alfie and the Fun game of Find It.
Hiding treats or even placing them in sight and having your dog " Find It" is a great way to make anything FUN for your dog, plus it makes them work their minds and nose.
I have been using the FIND IT game when it's time to crate up for the night.
Each dog waits on the other side of the door until it's their turn and as they come in to FIND IT, they will go in their crate to Find a treat waiting in there for them.
As the dogs come in and are crated, they patiently wait and watch the others have their turn and then they ALL get one more treat for being good, quiet and patient. ๐๐

Training should be FUN! If you can't have fun and work through your dog's mistakes then don't train that day.
Remember that your dogs are Always happy to work for you and to them it's just a GAME and games are meant ro be FUN! ๐๐โค

What is a "Reward Marker" ... it's a word or sound (some folks use a clicker)used to indicate to the dog that it's done something right and it's usually followed by a food reward. To Install the Reward Marker (if using a clicker, they call it Loading the Clicker), you feed the dog the treat item while saying your WORD...my WORD is " YES" .
It doesn't matter if the dog is sitting, standing or laying down. All you are wanting to do is build the Positive Association with the food.
You don't have to feed them very many treats during a session. You can feed 5 or 6 pieces of treat and say OK (or whatever your release word is) when the food is gone and then later on when you want to give them treats, do it again with 5 or 6 pieces....
By the Third repitition , your dog should start to associate your WORD with the food and at that time you can start shaping behaviors and Reward Marking and treating. ๐
Here we have Pixie, Ivy, Ryder, Zenith and Coco being good examples of how to install your Reward Marker. โโ

Folks, Please be careful when you are outside with your dog(s). The weather is just right for the snakes to start coming out. Please pay attention to your dogs when they bark and Remember what rattlesnakes sound like when they rattle. I shot this HUGE HUGE rattlesnake tonight around 11pm when I was letting my dogs out for a last potty break. They all bolted into the middle of the backyard and started to bark like crazy and that's when I heard the rattle.
If your dogs a loose in your yard when you can't watch them, please keep them contained or in the house. You never know if they will encounter a rattlesnake when you're not there and it could kill them if they got bit.
The best deterrent for snakes is a .22 rifle or a shotgun so you can shoot them dead.
Here is some Great loose leash walking!

Take some time when you are inside with your dog to do some quick and fun training!๐.
I happen to be sitting in a chair in the kitchen...feel free to "chang it up" and turn your training into a FUN GAME, as it should be!๐๐๐ท๐ท

Here is a short video on leash walking. When taking your dog out for a walk, be aware of how HOT it is outside and Where you will be walking. You Don't want your dog's pads to burn on HOT pavement/asphalt so choose grass and shade(if possible) instead. Also, DO NOT stay out very long...this video was just over 1 minute long and already Arya was getting hot, so I brought her inside to cool off. The Last thing you want is for your dog to overheat! ๐ท๐ท.
Its OK to use high value treats on your walk....Use a Treat Pouch if you have one, so that you can easily get to the treats....I couldn't because I had to hold my phone in one hand and the leash in the other๐๐.
Remember to use your training words to communicate with your dog.๐

How do you teach your dog to COME? The Best place to start is in your house either by yourself or with some friends.... In this video Im by myself and Im just using some kibble that Ryder likes. You can use Any high value treat your dog likes...if friends are helping you, they All need to have a few pieces of treat.
So I waited for ryder to be in the kitchen and I walked into the livingroom and called her. I use the word YES to mark the "Event " of her making a " B- Line" towards me. You will also hear me making Kissy and Clicky sounds to make myself appear more fun(which is perfectly fine) so that Ryder comes to me.
My guess is that something in the kitchen is far more interesting than coming to me, but she chose to COME.
Once she got to me, I gave her the treat and Released the behavior with the word OK.
I gave her a few moments to walk away from me before calling her to me again and following the same steps as above, said YES, gave the treat and released with OK.
You can practice this twice a day calling her about 5 or 6 times and call it good for the day. Remember that Repitation is the KEY. Once she is good at coming to you inside, you can try it in your back yard...NEVER let your dog off leash intentionally with the expectation that they will Happily come back if you are out in public. You Never know what will get their attention and it may be difficult for you to get them back. DO MAKE SURE your dog is SOLID on their recall INCASE they should ACCIDENTALLY get out of your hand, you can call them back to you. You have to ALWAYS make YOURSELF More Interesting than the world around your dog so that they are HAPPY to come back to you!โค๐๐
