I hope none of you accepted a new friend request from me. That is NOT me.

I have a lot of new friend request, some I know, most I do not.

I’m not confirming any of them. So if you need to reach me you probably have mine or Britt Eslinger’s phone number. Text me.

IT JUST GOT REAL!!

03/01/2024

This is the best read I have read in a long time. I just wanted to share it with everyone.

I copied and pasted it to a text to myself so I could read it completely when I had time. I suggest you do too. It’s fabulous, or so I think it is. I’ve gone back and read it several times. It may just be my favorite morning read with my coffee.

Please leave a comment if you take the time to read it. I am interested to see what others think of it.

Here goes:

Time is just the most precious thing. The older you get, I guess the more you realize this. Maybe it’s not even an age thing. Maybe it’s a maturity thing, but none of us really knows for sure exactly how much of it we’re going to be given, and so when you truly grow, you learn to prioritize it well.

You learn to value your time, and take it for the gift that it is. Not tomorrow. Not a year from now. Not when you graduate, or when you meet “the one,” or when you have enough money. Not when you finally have all your ducks in a row, or when all your dreams come true. But now.

You learn to say no, and you learn to have boundaries. You learn that some people just aren’t going to be your people, and you learn that things normally work out the way they’re supposed to. You learn that there will be bumps and detours along the way, and sometimes nothing goes as planned. You learn that nobody really knows exactly what they’re doing and that everyone has a story to tell if we’d just care enough to listen.

You learn to really choose your friends well, and you learn to invest in people who make your heart shine and your soul feel at peace. You learn to let the wrong ones go without throwing a fit, and you learn to forgive, because bitterness is such a waste.

You learn humility, because no matter what you have and what you achieve, you’re no better and no worse than anyone else. We’re all just people doing the best we can. We all have a place in this big ole world and none of it really revolves around us.

You learn to try and fail and then get up and try again. You learn that even sadness and grief are part of being human and part of what makes a rainbow is so beautiful is the fact that it doesn’t happen until after the storm.

You learn that returning hate for hate has never done any good, and some people are just angry and insecure and it has nothing to do with you. You pray for them and you move on and you resolve to stay soft and pure and to keeping putting your best out there anyway.

You learn to call your mom a little more and throw on the stupid bathing suit and jump in the pool with your kids when they ask because who cares about cellulite when they giggle and their eyes light up like that? You learn to pause and to rest and to watch the sun as it sinks and paints the sky in strokes of watercolored brilliance.

It’s this kind of sad/happy thing that happens all at once. You learn that time isn’t promised and life feels a lot shorter than you thought it would when you were young, but you also learn to burn your favorite candles even when no company is coming over, and to give gifts even when there’s no occasion. You learn to sip your coffee slowly and to savor that very last drop and that stuff is just stuff but people are irreplaceable. You learn that dishes can normally wait and that dance parties in the kitchen almost never can.

You learn to live, because that’s really all we can do: live well and love like crazy because time is a precious thing and no matter how hard we try, we don’t get any of it back. So spend it well, friends. Spend it well. Feel the things. Enjoy your people. Listen to good music and give thanks for every moment.

Has anyone used Orchard, Redfin, Christopher Watters, etc to sell their house? I need a super, hard working, realtor to look at selling my house. Any recommendations would be great and appreciated.

Oops deleted first post!

Just took care of these guys last week. Needed daily wound care on Waffles for an aural hematoma. Pic definitely doesn’t show how swollen his ear is. But, it is healing.

Most will not read this!!!

I think I have the solution to the fly problem. We have livestock on both sides of our land and backyard.

Our patio is enclosed on 3 sides with brick. We run an industrial fan 24 for our big dogs. Their beds are on the patio and that is the only place they will lay.

So, I spread “safe for human consumption” Diatomaceous Earth on dogs and dog beds. Not the DE we use for the pool filter. Human consumption, only. You can put in the dogs food for many health benefits. You can put it in a drink for many different health benefits. Look it up! Amazing stuff, thousands and maybe millions of years old.

1/32 of the flies right now.! Leave a comment if you read this all.

I keep thinking about discarding FB.

A dog is NOT a Christmas gift. A dog is not a toy to be discarded and ignored after the "newness" wears off. A dog is a living, breathing, feeling being and should be a member of the family, for his entire life. If you can't give one a lifelong commitment, get a stuffed dog, instead.

“Batteries not included ... a poem"

It is Christmas day today,
And all are full of cheer,
But I lay freezing on the step,
I always sleep right here.

I never get to go inside,
And join in all the fun,
I'm what they call a yard dog,
When all is said and done.

They have given me some scraps,
I think it was last week,
Now laying in the snow today,
I am feeling tired and weak.

I can hear the children playing,
As my head lay on my paws,
This time just last year,
I was a gift from Santa Claus.

I don't know what I did wrong,
To be shut out in the yard,
I only lived inside 6 months,
Since then my life's been hard.

The snow is falling heavy now,
I'm just a block of ice,
And when I breathe the cold cold air,
My lungs feel like a vice.

A miracle then came to pass,
An Angel did appear,
She glowed, and I could feel the heat,
As she floated near.

She reached her hand and beckoned,
It was such a sight to see,
She smiled and said "Good Dog,
It is time to come with me.

I will take you to the bridge,
Where all the Good Dogs go
You can play there in the sunshine,
There will be no freezing snow."

My bag of bones stood up then,
I shook the snow from off my fur,
And,as I slowly followed,
This is what I said to her.

"I am not a Good Dog though,
In that I think you're wrong,
No one would shut a Good Dog,
In the garden for so long."

The Angel turned and smiled,
As I walked with head hung low,
Then she said"I'm sorry,
I thought that you would know.

You really are a Good Dog,
The reason why your time is up,
It is just unfortunate,
You were born a Christmas pup."

I now live at the Rainbow Bridge,
And I am filled with joy,
But remember this at Christmas time,
A dog is NOT a toy.

To clarify this message,
To which I have eluded,
Animals are living things,
Batteries are not included

A violinist played for 45 minutes in the New York subway. A handful of people stopped, a couple clapped, and the violinist raised about $30 in tips.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the best musicians in the world. In that subway, Joshua played one of the most intricate pieces ever written with a violin worth 3.5 million dollars.

Two days before he played in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out a Boston theatre, and the seats averaged about $100.

The experiment proved that the extraordinary in an ordinary environment does not shine and is so often overlooked and undervalued.

There are brilliantly talented people everywhere who aren’t receiving the recognition and reward they deserve. But once they arm themselves with value and confidence and remove themselves from an environment that isn’t serving them, they thrive and grow.

Your gut is telling you something. Listen to it if it’s telling you where you are isn’t enough!

Go where you are appreciated and valued.

Know Your Worth.
