Have you ever donated your empty bottles or cans to LHS? Have you ever wondered what happens to them afterwards? Enter husband and wife super-team, Jerry and Karen Coy!

Jerry and Karen spend countless hours taking bottles back on behalf of LHS. Putting in as many hours as a part time job, they have spent more than 200 hours picking up, transporting, and returning our empty cans!!

Jerry and Karen have only been with us as volunteers since June, but in this short time we've come to love the kind, generous people they are! We want to give them a shoutout this because the help they provide is invaluable and benefits all aspects of our mission! You both are amazing!

Paris and Arnold are like an old married couple that likes to sit on their front porch, watching the sunset, while sipping sweet tea.

Paris (left) is a dogs dog and loves to follow Arnold around. She is so sweet and quiet, and would do great in a home with another dog that can help her gain more confidence!

This is Denzel, aka Denny for short.

He is a short king with a long boi body. He was found as a stray but is now ready for a new home where he can rule the roost. Denzel gets along with other dogs and knows no strangers! His favorite thing is to carry a toy around with him everywhere he goes!

Vicky Oliver is the best! It is no surprise that we're recognizing her this ! Even though Vicky is busy teaching social studies full time, she still manages to prioritize LHS and make time to volunteer!

There are no jobs at the shelter that Vicky says no to. Laundry, dishes, cleaning, Vicky does it all! Where she really shines is with our canine residents! Vicky does a great job getting them up and out of the shelter for whatever type of exercise they need, whether it is long walks and runs or short, leisurely strolls! This is so beneficial and enhances their shelter stay immensely.

Thank you Vicky, for choosing us and for choosing them. Your volunteerism and selflessness do not go unnoticed.

We're officially celebrating Alex's return to our team one year ago, but he's actually been working with us for a total of 5 1/2 years!

Alex brings comedic relief to every room he enters and uses his big heart to help rehabilitate scared and undersocialized pets. Although he loves helping dogs and assisting with playgroups, Alex will always have a major weak spot for kittens. Here he is with his most recent addition, Equinox!
