Pre-visit medications helped Marshall with his visit to Kelly Veterinary Clinic last week. He has had many anxious visits over his 15 years that involved hissing and swatting over being touched. However this time he allowed to be held for diagnostic samples to be drawn without any fuss or care. If you think your pet may benefit from pre-visit medications call or message our team.

Winky was suffering with symptoms of feline diabetes this past year. He was drinking an excessive amount of water, urinating larger amounts more frequently, and had unexplained weight loss. Dr. McQuade was able to diagnosis Winky with diabetes after a blood chemistry panel and urinalysis.

This can be a scary diagnosis for many pet owners. Traditional diabetes treatments of twice daily insulin injections can be difficult to manage. Luckily, Winky was a good candidate for a new medication, because he was newly diagnosed, the disease had not progressed to the production of ketones, and had never been treated with insulin. Bexacat, from Elanco, is an innovative new treatment that is a once daily tablet used to lower the glucose in the blood stream resulting in the elimination of the symptoms of diabetes.

We are happy to report that Winky is thriving!! Winky and his owner, Charlene, have taken control of his life instead of diabetes controlling his. ♥
