Dr Randy saw another “unusual” mouth today. All of this section of baby teeth were “dead”. The horse had hooked his lower jaw on something and tore this section partially loose. He could only remove the dead portion and let the underlying adult teeth come in. Ouch!

This horse was brought in today for weight loss. All her other horses were fat and sassy! This is a case of foxtail foreign bodies. Although all the horses were eating the same hay, this one had the foxtail “seeds” stick and embed, causing these nasty looking ulcers.

Sorry it's been awhile since our last post! The holidays are over the the New Year has begun (everyone cheer lol :) It's time to get those annual things (Coggins, vaccines, etc) out of the way so you will be ready to run when show and barrel seasons start! Events are starting to open up! It's a great idea to check on the status of your horse's vaccinations and Coggin's test standing. It takes about a week to get a turn around on the EIA (Coggin's) test. Dr. Randy can print out your certificate with pictures of your horse on it for ID. It is always good to keep your horse protected against Tetanus, Sleeping Sickness, Influenza, etc. with yearly vaccinations! It is also a great time to have your horse's mouth checked out for ulcers and sharp teeth and have a chiropractic exam. Just call for an appointment. 816-297-2006 Have a great day :)

Spring will be here (eventually). Time to start thinking about readying your horse for shows, events, trail rides, etc.! Dr. Randy is currently booking horses for chiropractic/acupuncture, joint work/lameness exams, and dental work.
