I have been telling people for years to stop storing your dog food in plastic containers! The fat coated kibble starts to go rancid when exposed to oxygen! Doesnโt matter how you store it. This is why some dogs start to refuse eating kibble from the bottom of the bag- the food has gone rancid and bad! Make sure to store your kibble in the bag it came in and squeeze out all the air and clip it shut.
Plastics are porous, meaning oils๐ง become trapped in them. Unless theyโre washed๐งผ daily, which isnโt practical, the pet food stored inside will be spoiled by rancid oils.๐ฉธProper pet food storage is essential to blocking or delaying the development of degenerative chemical processesโ ๏ธ and the growth of spoilage bacteria.
