The Town of Afton/Afton Public Works has an immediate opening for a general laborer/meter reader. Pay is dependent on experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be able to follow instructions and be willing to work as a team. This individual must be available for training and be willing to get licenses in Water/Wastewater and Gas. This Friday, December 6, Afton will host its annual Christmas Parade at 6pm. Spectators are advised to dress warmly and are welcome to bring their families. There will be a bike giveaway and as usual Santa will be making a pitstop.

Northwestern Sequoyah,
Mayes County, Adair County, Southeastern Nowata County,
Cherokee County, and Northeastern Muskogee County

* Until 530 AM CST.

At 451 AM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles east of Nowata to 3 miles south of Salina to Greenleaf State Park, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
