Hi Everyone!

(No, the power isn't out, and Yes, our phones are working (knock on wood))

-- I wanted to give you all a heads up that I have made some changes to our online pharmacy.
You will hopefully find this new platform easier, faster and a much more pleasant experience.

If you were on an Auto-ship program from our old provider, we will be reaching out to you over the next few days about continuing your automatic orders.

Everyone else, you may need to create a new sign-on account, but it should be a really simple process.

I want to encourage you all to check it out.

You can find a link to the new store on our website or by clicking here:

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick update. We are STILL without power at the clinic. In-theory it will be restored by 11pm tonight. They've given us 3 different restoration dates and times, so hopefully this one will stick.

If the power does come back on, please be patient while we work to reschedule a whole ton of appointments and try to get everyone's pets taken care of as quickly as we can.

If the phones are still down on Monday morning please email or text the clinic and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Thanks again!

- Dr. Tim

Hi Everyone! As you can probably guess, the power is out and the phones are down at the clinic this morning. No idea when we will be up and running. The staff and I are here if you need us but best to stay off the roads if you can.

Thanks and stay safe!

Hi Everyone!
Lilly slipped her collar on her way into the clinic last night and took off behind the dog park. Please keep your eye out for her. She is very shy so it is best to not approach her as she will likely run. If you happen to see her, please contact us or Shawna so we can get her home safely. Thank you all for your help!

Hi Everyone!

A couple of us will be in the clinic this morning. If you have an urgent medical issue with your pets please give us a call. Otherwise, we will likely close down in a couple of hours as the roads get worse.

If you can help it, stay home, we will be back tomorrow morning!

Thanks and stay safe!

Hooray! The power came back on last night here at the clinic!

However... Our Spectrum service is still out. So we have to communicate through a cell phone connection for the foreseeable future.

BUT, we are here, and able to access medical records, the pharmacy and lab!!

SO.... We are still somewhat limited. It's just me and the technicians here today and tomorrow. If you need to call, please do. If you can hold off until next week, please do. The staff has to work on rescheduling around 150 appointments and surgeries as quickly as we can. They're going to be stressed too. Please be kind.

AND... I still don't have power at my home. It's been since Monday morning that I have had a proper shower... If you're coming in today or tomorrow... You've been warned.

Thanks again everyone for your patience, kind words and help through this ordeal. If anyone needs to use some of our electricity you're more than welcome. I'll even run an extension to your car so you don't have to smell me.

- Dr. Tim

It's me again...

Still no power at the clinic, NYSEG has pushed the expected repair date back yet again on us.

Since pretty much everything we do relies on electricity and the internet (and heat and running water) we will be closed for appointments and surgeries today (April 21st).

If by some miracle, power is restored today I will let you all know and we will open back up.

The cell based internet service has been spotty the past few days, as more homes get power hopefully that will improve. So, if you have a medication that needs to be refilled or a medical question about your pet please email the clinic. You can also try our telemedicine app to reach one of the doctors. Not sure it will work efficiently but it's worth a shot.

For any life threatening medical emergencies please call Cornell at 607-253-3060.

Please accept our deepest apologies for being closed again. This is beyond frustrating at this point, but unfortunately out of our control. As soon as service is restored we will work as quickly as we can to reschedule everyone.

Thank you for your patience and thank you to those who are working tirelessly to get us back online.

04/20/2022

Unfortunately the power and phones are still out this morning at the clinic and at the staff and doctors homes.

The office will remain closed today (Wednesday 4/20) unless power is restored.

It's obvious this storm did a tremendous amount of damage to our area. Thank you to all the utilities and public safety workers for getting everything sorted out and repaired.

Once we have power and phones we will be back up and running. Until then if you have a true medical emergency please contact Cornell at 607-253-3060. If you are in dire need of a medication for your pet send us an email and we will try to arrange for it to be picked up.

Thanks Everyone, stay warm!

04/19/2022

Hi Everyone!

It looks like it is going to be a bit longer for our power and phones to be restored. Unfortunately we are going to have to close the office for appointments this afternoon.

We will try to get you all rescheduled as quickly as we can once services are restored.

Thanks and stay safe!

Hi Everyone!

The blunt of this storm is supposed to hit this morning and the roads in are pretty bad. We are going to close the clinic for the day.

If you have an emergency please give the office a call and the triage service will direct you where to go.

Thanks and stay safe! 50's next week!

Hi Everyone! Power, phones and internet is out here at the clinic. We are here. When you arrive to the clinic for your appointment someone will be out to greet you and we will work things out as best we can.

Hopefully it'll be back on soon. Hope you all are well!

Hi Everyone! This storm knocked out our power (and Internet/phone - shocker, I know). We are here.

Surgery and dentistry patients all did great and can likely go home after 3:30.

No idea when everything will be back up and running.

Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi Everyone!

The lighting yesterday took out some of our computers and phones, so we are working on fixing them this morning. We have a temporary solution up and running right now, and will hopefully be back in action shortly. If you need us and can't get through, shoot us an email. Otherwise we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Thank you!!

Hello Everyone!

On Monday, NY finally released us from the Curb-side service mandate! (YAY) The end is near!

So, we are going to be sticking with the plan I mentioned last week. We are waiting on one more staff member to finish her vaccinations, and once that is complete, we will be allowed to start bringing you all back into the building with your pets. (Likely starting June 14th)

Naturally, NY has some recommendations for us to follow; some are easy and make sense, others are impossible due to the size of the clinic. So we'll need to do the following:

1) Stay in your car with your pet when you arrive to the clinic. We will be using the parking-lot as the 'waiting-room' . Call when you get here to let us know you're here. We will then call you in when we are ready.

2) We want to limit the number of people in the exam room at a time. So try to keep the number of people you bring with you to a minimum. If you, or anyone in your immediate family is sick, please stay home. We will handle it.

3) We ask for you to be honest, if you have been vaccinated, you do not need to wear a mask. If you have NOT been vaccinated, please wear a mask in the building. We won't invade your privacy and we will all be wearing masks when in exam rooms with you regardless. If you wish to continue doing the car-side care, just let the staff know and we will accommodate that as well.

4) Once your pet's appointment is finished, we will check you out in the exam rooms so that we keep the reception area clear of crowds.

5) If you are picking up a medication or your pet from surgery, we will still have you call when you get here and the staff will bring out medications and your pet to the car.

This isn't a perfect system, but I figure it should work well enough considering the past year. We ask that you please be patient while we adjust back to a more normal work-flow. We will change things around depending on how its all working (or not). We will continue to NOT tolerate rudeness to any of the staff. If you hear Stacey swearing in the treatment area, don't worry... She probably just dropped something really expensive.

If this all sounds too complicated, don't worry. The girls will let you know what is going on and when/where to be and what to expect.

And one more time for those in the back:

MOST LIKELY: Starting June 14th, we will be bringing you back in the clinic with your pet. Keep the family members/friends/3rd cousins twice removed/Giraffe fans to a minimum for each appointment please. Bring a mask if you're not vaccinated or if you feel safer with one. Call when you get here. We'll take care of the rest.

We are all very excited to see you and really look forward to getting back to a more normal day.

Thanks everyone! Hope you all are doing well and staying healthy.

See you soon!

- Dr. Tim

Hi Everyone!

Leave it to the government to muddy already annoying and confusing situation... But hey, we have some good news!

We are waiting for our NY Officials to remove the Covid curb-side mandate which will hopefully happen any day now. Once that happens, we are going to wait a week or three (depending on when that happens) for the rest of the staff's vaccines to become protective. We will then be opening the clinic back up to clients and their pets.

It will be a somewhat-slow transition so we can make sure everyone is safe. Because our clinic is so small, it is impossible to do the social distancing thing, so we may use the parking-lot as a 'waiting room' and will call you guys in one at a time from there. I think this will give us the best and safest control over the crowds in the clinic.

Those of you who aren't vaccinated or are worried about coming into contact with other people can still do the car-side care if you wish. If you are not vaccinated, we ask that you be honest with everyone and just wear a mask.

I will post more on both our webpage and Facebook in the coming weeks to go over all the changes where and when they can happen.

Both Dr. Val and I are REALLY looking forward to seeing you guys and getting to interact the way we like to.

I want to personally take a minute to thank you all for being great this past year and supporting us through all this insanity. As you can imagine its not an easy thing to adjust to and makes the job significantly more difficult and inefficient. We know its tremendously hard for you too, so THANK YOU for remaining kind, thoughtful and respectful to all of us here. Hopefully we'll be back to normal soon!

Thanks and take care!

- Dr. Tim

Our Story

The doctors and staff of Country Care Veterinary Center would like to welcome you to our clinic's page. We strive to provide and promote the best possible health care for your family's pets. Dr. Valerie Ebert comes to us from Pennsylvania to share her love for medicine and surgery with you. Dr. Val primarily works with dogs and cats (and on occasion if Dr. Tim isn’t in the office she may see a bunny or swan). Dr. Val is a talented clinician and surgeon who rarely backs down from a challenge.

Dr. Tim Slater has very diverse interests in veterinary medicine. He provides medical and surgical care for anything you can get in the door (and some that you can’t). He treats anything from Dogs and Cats to wildlife and anything in-between.

Our State-of-the-Art clinic is nestled in an old farm house, but don’t let it’s quaint appearance put you off. We have incorporated the latest and best tools to keep your pets happy and healthy. Just some of our services include: General Medicine and Soft-tissue surgery, In-House comprehensive blood diagnostic machines, In-house Ultrasound and Digital Radiography suite including Dental radiography, Class IV Therapeutic Laser Therapy, Tonometry, Cardiac and Blood Pressure Evaluation capabilities and A full dental suite. Any services that we are unable to provide, our doctors work closely with other near-by hospitals to help get the best outcomes for our patients.
