A huge THANK YOU to Eagle Scout Jake, troop 485, & family & friends for taking on the organizing of our new food & supply trailer!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

They unloaded the entire trailer, organized like items, built much needed shelves, created a foster supply area, then reloaded our supplies, giving us the end result of a beautifully organized supply trailer!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

We can’t thank Eagle Scout Jake enough for organizing this project & bringing a team of other scouts, friends, & family to help us out!

So many kitties found their forevers including an 18 year old kitty!!!🥳👏🏻

🐱18 year old Willow came to us horribly matted with a mouthful of rotten teeth.💔After a humane shave (hence his lion cut🦁) & several teeth extracted he felt so much better! The cat team fell in love with this darling boy! Miraculously an adopter came in specifically wanting a sweet senior, she hit the jackpot with Willow who went home with his crown bed donated by volunteer Cathy!👑❤️ 😇

🐱Mars nka Ella has a new Mom & Dad & a gift package from her kitten foster Colleen!❤️🐱❤️

🐱Bandit’s new Mama & Papa are first time cat owners who were interested in finding a cat who loves to cuddle. Affectionate Bandit who loves to be pet was the perfect fit!❤️👏🏻

🐱Star has a new Papa!❤️

🐱Reese was adopted by her new family who had come in earlier in the day all together. Then Dad came back alone later in the day to get a better sense of options. Reese wasn’t on his radar earlier but in the end he chose her! Reese was the perfect fit as she loves to play, he couldn’t wait for the daughters to meet their new friend!👏🏻❤️

🐱🐱Tiger & Gracie nka Rigel & Nica are two bonded kittens who love being together and cuddling. Happily they were adopted to an amazing cat savvy woman ❤️👏🏻 and her son who recently lost their 20 year old cat.💔🌈

🐱9 mth old Shadow has a new family!👏🏻❤️

🐱🐱Nellie and Eggie 2nd chance kitties from Carson were adopted together by a very cat savy family. ✔️Fun Fact: Eggie is a “ectrodactyly.” This gives Eggie the appearance of having a paw with a midline “split” rather than a paw with typical toes!🐾😮❤️❤️

We did a thing again 😍😍😍
Welcome the new kids! Fresh in from
We recently saw a post from Lancaster that they had over 300+ dogs in their care… we had a few open kennels so we squeezed in a few (26 combined - dogs and cats)
We were equally happy and devastated to only open 7 dog cages for them and we know they’ll just as quickly fill them. It’s a heartbreaking reality of animal shelters right now. More animals than homes and more coming daily. 💔
We are so grateful to be able to help the ones we could.
We can’t wait to get to know them better!

Our Princess has a very discerning palate turning up her gorgeous snout at all our donated dog food except for Stella’s Stew! She’s been receiving a box a day to help with much needed weight gain. (Princess is another Heart to Home transfer from Lancaster🥰)

Unfortunately the stew is not something we typically have in our supplies & we’ve run through what we had on hand.

Sooooo….are reaching out to our generous community for help to replenish Princess’ fav food!❤️🙏

Our Kara was a super star⭐️ for her Pet of the Week segment on !👏🏻

She wiggle butted herself all over the studio greeting every human in her path including Robert G. Luna who was in studio as well! and were absolutely in love with Kara! What a perfect pooch she was representing homeless pets residing in LA County Care Centers…good dog Kara!

Despite her stellar debut she’s not yet found her perfect match. Best home would be where she is the one & only canine in the household. She loves to walk on leash but may pull when she’s very interested in something. She has a solid group of commands, sit, down, & paw/shake. So smart & such a good girl!!!

2 year old Kara is available to meet Monday through Saturday from 11 to 5. (Closed Sunday & Holidays) Our smoosh faced girl looks forward to meeting her forever family!❤️🐾

4 those of u who have inquired…a Nani update!🥰

She was perfect for her initial bath🛁 (She was a very stinky, dirty gal with bits of tar stuck to her fur & loads of molting fur that was brushed off) but will also be professionally groomed to hopefully bring her white fur back to its beauty🫧 (she is still dirty gray in some spots despite 3 different shampoos tried).
We have her in one of our walkout cages to accommodate her blindness. She’s great in the car! (rode beautifully in a crate during her trip from Carson to Agoura 🚙& to the eye specialist.)

Nani who is 5 years old has been seen by the ophthalmologist funded by
She has chronic glaucoma, probably inherited and causing pain. Nani also has cataracts in both eyes with posterior lens luxation in Rt eye. The Lt lens is subluxated. Both eyes blind, no reaction to light, with poor prognosis for return of vision. Goal now is to provide comfort with initial meds then surgery soon to remove her eyes.

✔️We went to pick up our Beau who was returned to Carson and discovered Nani who just happened to be in one of their play yards right next to where we parked to load the car. We feel it was meant to be for her to become part of the Agours family! She is such a lovely pup & already adored by us!!!😍

We are in desperate need of kitten food!🙏After our 60 cat transfer from Carson, many of which were kittens we have run through most of our canned kitten food.🙀

The little ones pictured were turned into Agoura arriving in a box.😿
They are safe in foster care until they are big enough to return to the Care Center for adoption.❤️
We have many other kittens available for adoption in our cat area.😻

🐶Knox a 2nd chance pup from Lancaster was adopted by a woman who had visited him multiple times. He was wonderful during his intro, sweet, gentle, kind, funny, and down right charming.❤️

🐶Clyde who came to us as a stray in Dec. had a dog to dog intro and was having the time of his life with his new friend & now fur sib Nola!👏🏻❤️🐾👏🏻❤️🐾

🐶Kumba a Heart to Home event Xfer pup was picked by a young couple who have adopted their first dog ever!👏🏻Congrats new paw parents!
Despite the deceiving picture Kumba was very happy to jump into the car with them!😁

🐶Tucker was adopted to a sweet couple who are very dog and puppy savvy! Perfect fit for our high energy boy. And bonus…they also plan to take Tucker camping! ⛺️ 🧡

🐶Yukon’s new Mom recognized him on our website. She had known him previously and had remembered him from the Camarillo shelter. She was so happy to have found him at Agoura!👏🏻😁

Our newest family members!🥰

Volunteers Tamy & Robin took a drive over to our to bring back 4 pups in need of a 2nd chance (and for some a 3rd, see Beau)!🚙 As is the case for all our high intake Care Centers Carson is over capacity, the dogs & cats (hence why we recently transferred in 60 cats) never stop coming.☹️

🐶3 y/o Beau was adopted from us about a month ago and was returned to Carson when the landlord would not allow him to stay. Once an Agoura family member always an Agoura family member!❤️👏🏻

🐶3 y/o Hopper had been issued a 72 hour plea & was quickly running out of time. This sweet pittie wonderful tripod pup is missing his back left leg. Hence the adorable name selected for him by the Carson crew.🥰A staff & volunteer favorite, he manages just fine on 3 paws!

🐶5 y/o Nani is an incredibly sweet husky gal truly in need of a 2nd chance! Dirty, smelly, so in need of a groom this neglected girl will be heading to see an opthomologist tomorrow to have her eyes looked at funded by Healthcare for Homeless Animals & already had a quick bath today. Already sight impaired (she bumped into the play yard fence when greeting Tamy) she is suspected to have painful glaucoma and is likely to lose one, possibly both eyes.☹️💔

🐶And finally we had room for one more small pup…chi Lil Lil was the choice! 8 years old his fur sibs had all been adopted leaving Lil Lil alone. He was under the umbrella ☂️ of a new Carson volunteer run 501c3 focused on Carson senior pups. He’ll now be under the umbrella☂️ & will head over to hospital for a comprehensive senior exam.❤️🩺

More out the door! Our adopters rock!!!🥳

🐶Nemo came in to Lancaster in November as a stray & transferred to us in January. He was going on his 9th month of being overlooked.☹️
They had recently lost their beloved pittie.💔🌈Ready to open their hearts to another rescue they noticed Nemo had been with us for a while, they quickly decided he was the one they wanted to meet.🥹Nemo was shy during the intro but the couple was quite savvy, patient, & kind with him.  Nemo eventually took some treats from the man.😁👏🏻Brave boy Nemo!

Happily we present a Nemo pupdate from his new dad:🥹”He’s doing well. Still very shy, but I catch him walking up behind me to check me out. Eating, gets along great with our other dog. He’s a great dog. He just needs to get settled down and he’ll open up. Usually takes 1-3 weeks.” We love how understanding his new pawparents are!🥹❤️🥳

🐶Slinky was adopted by a father & son who fell hard for our little one & he for them!🥰👏🏻

🐶Peekaboo’s new family recently lost their 13 yr old lab.💔🌈Our precious puppy will definitely be doing a bit of heart healing.🥹❤️

Adopted 💕
Gorgeous boy, Max was owner surrendered to us after a minor bite to a child in the home. Per the owners, the child was instigating and got bit but due to their being a newborn also in the home, they no longer felt safe with him.
Max is a sweet, young, quirky boy who will give you the cutest submissive smile when excited.
Max can be fearful with new things and needs to know he’s safe. Once he knows you, he is such a gentle kind boy.
Max has been cleared for adoption to an adult only home and if another pup in the home, a calm dog friend is recommended.
Due to the previous bite, an adopter would be signing a form stating they know there is a history of a bite.
Everyone in the home should meet him due to his shyness and history.

Argon was found by hikers in Malibu Canyon. He had zip-ties around his neck and muzzle and could not open his mouth. Additionally, he was in a precarious place down an embankment, possibly from falling or being tossed there. The courageous hikers got him to safety and he was treated by Agoura Animal Control personnel before arriving at GSROC this morning.

Argon has a confirmed diagnosis of lymphoma, a cancer that will soon take his life if left untreated. Currently, GSROC is conducting tests to determine what course of treatment will best suit him. We are determined to provide him with compassion, comfort and good care for whatever time he has.

One look into Argo's eyes and you can see the suffering that he has endured. He has been abandoned and betrayed by someone that he trusted. We have promised him that he will never be alone, unwanted or mistreated again now that he is safe in our embrace.

We can't imagine what kind of cruel human could do something so heinous to a helpless creature, let alone to one as gentle and trusting as Argon. Right now, GSROC is focusing on helping him feel better.
