A few recent training clips with Lina for you guys, so if we arenโt graced by the young horse gods with a stellar performance in our first FEI 6 Year Old qualifier this weekend, let it be documented that weโve been having some awesome work at home lol ๐ Last week it was in the 70s, had a super lesson with Elly Schobel (trot clip) after spending most of the Fall and Winter thus far on our own. Elly was very pleased with our progress ๐๐ช๐ผ! Lina had the weekend off while I spent Saturday and Sunday in the B session of the L judging program. Thank you Alison Head Justine Wilson and Jayne Ayers for providing this excellent learning opportunity!

Last night it was 38 for our ride, shown in my bundled attire for the flying change clips, and Lina felt fantastic! This morning I broke ice in the water trough! WTF Aiken! For anyone interested in our rides this weekend at Dressage in the Park at the Aiken Horse Park, we will be giving our first shot at the FEI 6 Year Old Test at 5:10 on Saturday and 12:03 on Sunday๐ค Not exactly ideal to start showing this challenging test in January for a not yet 6 year old but I decided we must try it now since I canโt be sure Iโll be able to sit the trot for the next show LOL!๐คฐ๐ผCustom Saddlery Zandonร - Equestrian Southeast Sport Horse Stellar Equine Performance Therapy

๐ด Iโm quite pleased with how the flying changes are coming along, especially for having started seriously training them very recently. The half passes are quite recent as well and starting to feel more trained. Starting a bit of working pirouette type canter with some quarter turns to build strength and engagement. I had the pleasure of performing an exhibition ride for the Horses and Harmony fundraiser for the Aiken Symphony and what an experience it was! I rode Traci Mossโs brilliant PRE, Bolero, while the Aiken Symphony played live right next to us! Bolero had never experienced anything like this before but after a rocky start he tuned in to me and went to work showing off like the good horse he is! Despite what the announcer says at the end, I, in fact, did not prepare a choreographed routine lol. I literally winged it, just doing Boโs and my favorite movements wherever it seemed fitting in the music, so some transitions arenโt great as I abruptly said โwait Bo, lets do this now!โ Lol!๐คฃ
