The difference between the marker words “yes” and “good girl/boy”
“Yes” means you are getting a reward of some kind, whether that be love, a treat, freedom, etc!
“Good girl/boy” is a continuation marker meaning that your pup is doing the right thing and is earning a “yes”

Fetch mastery in 5 simple steps! 🎾🐾
1️⃣ Get Excited: Start with enthusiasm! Grab your dog's favorite toy, show excitement, and encourage them to grab it.
2️⃣ Trade Game: Initiate a trade-off. When your pup brings the toy back, reward with a treat or praise, making them associate returning with something positive.
3️⃣ Short Distances: Begin with short throws. This builds confidence and keeps the game engaging.
4️⃣ Gradual Increase: As your dog gets the hang of it, gradually increase the distance. Keep it fun and rewarding with each successful retrieve.
5️⃣ Celebrate Success: Celebrate every successful fetch with cheers, treats, and affection. Turn it into a joyful experience for your furry MVP!

Let’s teach Nash “down” in 4 simple steps! 🤩
1. Put him in a sit. This makes it easier for the dog to understand what we are asking!
2. Have a high value treat or toy that your puppy will follow and first say “down.” Do not repeat yourself for we do not want to start a bad habit of your pup not listening until the 2nd time you say a command!
3. Create an L shape using the high value item as the reward! If they do not immediately follow it’s ok! Just bring it back up to their nose and continue trying to lure them down!
4. This most important step is marking the action and rewarding your puppy for a job well done! The second your puppy lays down, mark the action by saying “yes” and rewarding them!
Repeat 5-10 times to ensure that your puppy understands the task and then give them a short break and then begin to practice the task again!
