🎉🎉We opened our barn doors one year ago today!! 🎉🎉

It’s been an amazing year of transformation - building out our facility; hiring an amazing team; selecting, importing, and training quality horses; raising our 2024 foal crop; hosting several top clinicians, and showing at numerous venues.

None of this would be possible without our incredible head trainer, Laura Abner. Over the last 22 years Laura has developed horses from Training Level to Grand Prix, shown 38 different horses in 316 classes, won numerous Regional Open Championships, and ranked highly at the USDF Dressage Finals. She is well respected nationally and internationally and we know she is well on her way to the top! We are so honored that she has chosen Zia as her home. 🥰

We look forward to the upcoming year when we will continue to build out our facility (can’t wait for the covered arena!), import more quality horses, raise our 2025 foal crop, and show extensively. Please reach out if you would like to take lessons from or have your horse trained by Laura, or if you are interested in any of our top quality imports or youngsters.

🎉🎉 A huge shout out to our rider and manager Carrigan Drake for her exceptional riding this week. She took our newly imported 4 year old gelding Vicarious (Viva Gold / Wolkentanz) to his first show ever, winning their class with over 80%!! 🎉🎉

YOUNG HORSE MASTERCLASS with Hannah Laser April 13-14 at Zia Equestrian

Hannah Laser is an extremely successful German dressage trainer of primarily young horses. Some of her achievements include:

🔹2x Bundeschampion in the 3 y/o stallions with scores from 94-95%
🔹2x Vicechampion with up to 94%
🔹2x Hannoveraner Champion with 95%
🔹5x Stallion Sport Test winner with over 90%
🔹Competitor in the World Young Horse Championships with final scores over 90%

We are very excited to invite you to join us at Aiken’s newest equestrian paradise! Zia Equestrian is a 56-acre facility on New Bridge Road in Aiken, complete with a fully remodeled 20-stall main barn, a variety of paddocks and pastures with shade trees and shelter, a 22,000 sq ft riding arena with GGT footing, a 70-foot round pen with GGT footing, a 10-acre riding field, a perimeter bridle path and nearby trails, and staff onsite 24/7/365. The only thing missing is you!
