Spice Litter 2022
Just a little sneak peak of the spice litter! (SelenaXCyrus) These gorgeous pups will be available for reserve next weekend on May 7th 💕
They’ve got a busy week ahead of them with their individual photo shoots needing to be done as well as temperament testing 💖
Wednesday Weigh In
Doing weekly weight checks is one of the best tools for monitoring the colony. It allows me to keep tabs on pregnancy development, juvenile growth patterns, and helps me regulate their food intake. Plus it’s a good time for me to look each rat over to make sure there are no abnormalities to be noted.
Ingrid and her litter of Russian blues and marked Siamese. Took them a minute to realize the eggs were there but once I turned the camera off they chowed down! They love to be in the spotlight just like their mama always has 😂❤️
I couldn’t resist showing off this beautiful litter🤩😍🥰
The C-Litter is turning two weeks old tomorrow and they’re growing so fast! We saw a few little eyes open today and they’re starting to self groom, the little milestones are so cute 💕
Male pups from the “M” and Disney Litters got to meet their nursery dads today! These babies are so sweet, they just crave attention! 🥰
Bleu (berk) is always our designated nursery dad because of his social and laid back temperament. This is Karl’s (Rex) first time being a manny and he’s already doing great!
One of our main goals here at Sandy Ridge is to produce rats that are social and accepting of not only humans but other rats, that way introductions go smoothly when they transition to their new homes. Introducing little ones to older unrelated rats is just one of the ways we work to achieve this with each litter. ❤️🐀
Just a peek at the M-Litter. Eyes are starting to open! ❤️🥰😭
It doesn’t get much cuter than this 😭❤️ The Disney litter is getting chunkier by the hour 🥰

2 week update on the current litters! Their eyes are opening, they’re starting to follow mom out of the nest, and their fur is completely in! This stage is my personal favorite 😍
I also got individual pictures done of all 37 and were able to solidify their ID’s, quite a task. 🥵
Shown is the H Litter but P-Litter and G-Litter will be posted in the comments!
Filled the nursery with things for the pups to explore and they are loving it! I’m so happy to see all the curiosity and confidence this litter has. Temperament testing will be done in just a few more weeks to determine which ones will be held back for breeding.
Phoebe blessed us with 14 adorable little gummy bears this evening! Everyone looks healthy including mama. I’ll get a better look at them tomorrow but for now I’ll leave them alone with mom while I make her some scrambled eggs to reward her for all the hard work. Super proud that this is the first litter in the rattery with a first time mom and it’s been this successful so far 🥰❤️
