We did a hive inspection yesterday. One of our hives was very low on honey reserves and the bees were stressed. While checking it we noticed a bee emerging. If you look closely you can see what's causing the stress inside of this hive.
We did treatments recently for varroa mites but unfortunately this hive still has plenty. This hive and the one next to it were treated again to ensure we take care of this pest.
We should have some fall honey in the coming days though!!!

The other day we had one of our hives swarm. Luckily we saw it happening and were able to retrieve them. But it's really cool to see them all flying at one time! We will post later pics of the swarm itself.

The other day we saw some activity on a swarm box that was just sitting next to our barn.
We put up a camera and were able to catch a swarm moving in!

There are some unwashed eggs inside the cooler. Had a customer request them so we put some down there.
Lastly, we had a swarm move into a swarm box that we put by the farm stand. If you want to check the bees out feel free to. But please do not get too close, as they are bees, they will defend themselves.
We will leave the swarm box down there for the next few days until they are completely established, then move them back to a full Hive.
