The Synodontis polli love their food time!
Two hours into the swap and we still have a nice crowd. 100 vendor tables. Well worth the travel.
The GVAS swap is winding down for the day. The next stop this weekend is the GCCA swap near Chicago, IL. Great fish, good friends and a weekend away with my wife. Life is good.
Nice crowd at EAS (Erie) auction today. Get out the cold and come buy some fish.
Project update:
Started testing the first 2 zones (about 60 tanks) of our auto water changer, happy to say absolutely no issues. We wished we would have started this project 3 years ago when we bought all the parts. Lol. We are letting the 2 zones run for awhile so we can check on them but tonight they will be running unsupervised. The green emmitors are running 8 gph so we will be running them on their scheduled nights for an hour at a time.
Sorry for the dirty glass but you can see Uaru fry zipping around feeding on live baby brine shrimp.
Our first DIY Matten Filter. This is a 20 gallon long and we are using the filter as a divider. We have enough foam to do about 25 tanks including some 40 breeders and 75 gallon tanks. Our plans are to do all of our breeder tanks and maybe some of the grow out tanks. We will be doing some every month until all of them are done, it is going to be a long slow process but it will be worth it in the end. We will post some photos of the larger tanks later in the week.
It is not the greatest video but if you look closely at the female Corydoras davidsandsi you can see that she has 3 or 4 eggs stuck to her ventral fins. She holds the 2 ventral fins together like a cup and the males approach her to fertilize the eggs. What is not shown in the video is after several visits from the male she deposits the eggs on the glass and starts the process over. It like 2 females are laying eggs and several males are chasing after them. So far the have around 40-50 eggs laid. We will have to check back with them a little later to collect the eggs.
