It’s not too late to make a difference for Akron Cooperative Farms this year!

We are uplifted by the Farm’s progress and excited for all work that lies ahead. Your gift will ensure the hoophouse growing timeline for 2025—in turn supporting our future growth!

Donations towards repairs and a new tiller, both essential to the hoophouse and all growing, help us prepare now for 2025 and year 2 of the hoophouse program! Our growing season starts early each year, and we need to repair the hoop house by January or February!

As the year comes to a close, thank you for helping us nurture this special space in so many ways. Our program supports and shares the native cultural farming practices of our gardening families, plus production techniques and stewardship education for area students and the whole community.

Our fundraising goal is $4,000 for repairs on our damaged hoophouse and a new tiller, both essential to the Hoophouse initiative and all growing done on the Farm. We’re over 50% there, thanks to generous friends who have participated so far. Please help us to the final re-wrap!

Before a fierce windstorm damaged one of our large hoophouses this fall, long-time gardeners Buddhi, Panchi and Suk took the lead this year with our Hoophouse initiative, growing and harvesting 7 different crop varietals between March and October! They sold the crops atmarket and revenue was split between them and the Farm—a win-win through social enterprise!

Help us to make needed repairs to Re-Wrap the Hoophouse before next growing season so that our farmers can continue this initative!

With our 130+ gardeners, we experienced SO MUCH GROWTH during the abundant 2024 season, such as piloting a new Hoophouse Growing program!

For our gardeners who sold produce at the weekly HapiFresh Farmers Market, even more shoppers showed up: One market day saw 900+ visitors! Another highlight was completion of our Cold Storage Shed, thanks to a crew of passionate volunteers.

A windstorm in October seriously damaged one of our 2 main hoophouses, and we must fix it up in time for growing season 2025 – which begins much earlier than you might think! This repair is essential to year 2 of our new hoophouse pilot social-enterprise program, which kicked off last summer and was a fantastic success – now we’ve got work to do to take it “next level” for year 2!

This season, we’re raising funds for this repair ($2,000), and some equipment that will support both the hoophouse program and our gardeners in their plots! If you are able to help, any and all contributions are deeply appreciated.

The crazy wind from yesterday did a number on our hoophouse. Looks like we have some work to do! We have had great production as we've been focused on our production. Pray we find the right strategy to repair this!
