DONATIONS NEEDED:

Over the years, Shaggy Chic has worked with several rescue groups with dogs they acquire that are in desperate need of grooming. Now, you can help too! We are asking for donations to help pay for grooming the homeless pets in our area that are looking to be adopted. Most of these animals have just recently been found or dumped off, and are now being taken care of by foster families. Some are in pretty rough shape and require lots of patience and attention. Grooming is essential for their health and wellbeing, and it also helps that they look their best so people will want to adopt them. Currently the rescues are having to pay for this service, and it's becoming more frequently needed. So, we are hoping to relieve some stress on our local rescue groups by raising enough money to help get these guys a fresh start so that they can find their forever homes.

Attention:

Due to the increasing number of appointments being missed or canceled without adequate time to fill that spot, we have made the decision to implement a "No Show/ Cancelation" policy.
To ensure that our schedule runs efficiently and our groomers are fairly compensated, effective immediately, Shaggy Chic will assess a $30 fee (per pet) for cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to appointment time, and all "No Shows". While we are more than willing to accommodate by rescheduling, we ask that our clients please give a minimum of 24 hours notice.

We understand that unforseen circumstances may arise, and each situation will be taken into consideration. Our highly sought after grooming staff has a packed schedule through the entire year.
Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment last minute, we miss the opportunity to fill that spot with another client in need or someone that has been on the wait list.

To avoid missed appointments, we send out reminders through text/email 5 days prior, and the day before your scheduled date. Please confirm by replying to the message sent, or by calling us at (205)406-5446.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our new policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us! Thank you for your support!

Hope everyone is enjoying the snow and ice by starting home and not traveling on icy roads! As of right now, to give ourselves a little extra time tomorrow, we will be opening at 10am instead of our usual 7:30am. Will update accordingly.

Due to the potential for heavy rains and a few scattered thunderstorms tomorrow morning, we will be postponing the Christmas parade originally scheduled for tomorrow until next Saturday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m.
We made this decision after much consideration after speaking with the National Weather Service Birmingham office and having several floats cancel due to weather concerns.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the parade next Saturday!
Please note tonight's water tower lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. will proceed as scheduled.

Anyone looking to adopt?......

This is Luna, she also goes by Big love. She has all of her shots and is potty trained. She is a great pyrenees/boxer mix. she weighs @75 lbs. The family will provide medical records, large crate, toys, and bag of food. She is young, maybe 2. she is having issues with her sister dog in the house and family doesn’t want her to get hurt. Recommends a family with no other dogs. she likes children and people but her and her sister dog have started fighting and they don’t want either to get hurt.
