A volunteer from ICRA brought in a kitten yesterday that appeared to not be using her front leg. Turns out Gray Kitty had a broken leg. The team placed a splint, and we will monitor her over the course of the next few weeks.

It felt like we have seen a lot of French Bulldogs recently, so we looked it up and found that we have had 30 new Frenchie patients in the past year! Many of them puppies. Momma came in yesterday with two of her 11! puppies (who once we see them all they will raise the total to 39) for a check up.

For the last several months of curbside service we have been asking our clients which car they are in so that we can come out to bring their pet inside. We have been surprised how many of our clients drive a white Prius, or a green Subaru. So we decided to put up signs with different animals printed on them, so that we can ask :What animal are you parked in front of?".

Park Centre has resumed our pre-Shelter-at-Home hours. We are again open 7 days a week, from 8am to 6pm Monday thru Friday, 9 to 4 on Saturday and 10 to 4 on Sunday. In order to keep you and our staff safe, we will continue to provide curbside service only, and ask that you stay in your car while we take care of your pet inside the hospital.

We understand that being separated from your pet is stressful for you and your pet, but be assured that they are getting plenty of love here while they are visiting us.
Following the new protocols makes our job more difficult, and what used to be routine is now more time consuming. In addition, our phone call volume has tripled since we have begun curbside service. As a result, a few of our clients have become very frustrated with our staff due to longer than usual wait times.

We ask for your patience and understanding, and if possible, a smile, as we are doing everything we can to take care of the pets that you love.

On Friday, Lynda and Susan from High Street Station Catering brought us this delightful lunch of Chicken Marsala, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli Casserole and more. They are feeding hundreds of Doctors, Nurses, Veterinarians and their staff in Alameda over the course of the next few weeks. They have set up a site to accept donations to help offset some of the costs at this site. Thank you so much, the lunch was wonderful!

Park Centre continues to remain open in order to provide essential services during the COVID-19 outbreak.

At this time we are limiting access to our lobby and implementing new drop-off and pickup procedures.

Upon arrival at our practice please remain in your vehicle or outside of the hospital and call us at our confirmation line (415) 369-7396 . After receipt of the call our staff will either check you in as soon as possible from outside of the hospital, drop off the food or medication or provide you with additional details. If you are feeling ill or experiencing flu-like symptoms and have an upcoming appointment, please call us to reschedule or make accommodations with a friend of family member to bring in your pet at our clinic.

Thank you for understanding!

03/17/2020

We are Park Centre want you to know that we will remain open for business through the County’s mandated shelter in place order as veterinary hospitals are considered an essential activity. We are focused on seeing urgent appointments as we are short staffed due to self-quarantine and employees’ difficulty in arranging child care.

For everyone's safety, please do not come in if you believe you have been exposed to COVID-19 or if you have or anyone in your household has a fever or any signs of a cold or the flu.. We will work with you to reschedule your appointments or arrange other ways to obtain care for your pets.

In order to help us maintain social distancing, we ask that your family members remain in the car and only one care giver come into the hospital. If your pet is scheduled to just see a technician, we may ask you to stay in your car and a staff member will come and get your pet, and bring them back to you after the appointment.

We do have an on-line pharmacy where you can purchase Prescription Diets and medications that can be delivered to your home. The link to our pharmacy is Below.

Thank you for your understanding during these difficult times.

Everyone is watching the news about the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) very carefully. We at Park Centre Animal Hospital want to reassure you that we put you, your pets’, and our team’s health and safety first. We have beefed up our existing disinfectant protocols, and we are staying current with the latest Centers for Disease Control, World Health Organization, and American Veterinary Medical Association recommendations.
If you or members of your family are experiencing Flu like symptoms, and have an upcoming appointment, please give our office a call and we will be happy to reschedule your appointment.
At this time, the CDC, WHO, and the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) say there is no evidence that companion animals, including pets, spread or can become infected with COVID-19.
