Who doesn't love Teddy Grahams?!
Teddy Graham has been described as a food motivate, aloof goofball.
He is quite strong and has high energy so an experienced handler would be ideal.
We think he would do best in a home without young kids as likes to jump up and will probably knock them down. If you would like to meet Teddy Graham, visit our Fortmann location Wed-Sun 11-4

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the passing of one of our longtime volunteers and dear friends, Robert Woolley. His contributions to our community and the impact he had on so many lives will always be remembered.

You can read more about Robert and his legacy in the following article we put together as a tribute to this amazing man: https://www.faasblog.org/post/in-memoriam-robert-woolley-faas-volunteer-extraordinaire

Robert dedicated countless hours to helping animals in need and was a true inspiration to all of us. We are deeply saddened by this loss and want to honor his wonderful life and incredible contributions.

We welcome you to share your experiences with Robert here or in the comments area after the blog post.

Let’s come together to celebrate his memory and the positive influence he had on our shelter and beyond.

Seti is an active and busy dog, who would ideally get 2 long walks a day and some fetch. He loves tennis balls. Due to his size and dog reactivity, he should be in a kid free home and should be the only pet in the home, though a goldfish is probably ok. Seti is looking for an experienced, confident handler who will continue his training.
If you are interested in meeting Seti, visit our Fortmann location Wed-Sun 11-4

Meet Tupac! Tupac is a friendly dog, though he doesn't have the best manners so he is looking for someone that will continue his training. He has previously lived with other dogs successfully and would likely do well in a home with kids. If you would like to meet Tupac, visit our Fortmann location Wed-Sun 11-4.

Are you interested in being a short term foster? Tess’s fosters are going out of town and need someone to take her 1/14-1/22. Here is what they said about her: She doesn’t do well in the shelter, so we’re really hopeful that a short term foster family can watch her just for this one week. She’s a sweet dog and is easy to take care of. She is a little dog reactive so she’ll need to be the only dog in the household. We have been working on redirecting her outside around dog triggers and it’s been working fairly well.
If you would like to foster or adopt Tess, please call Amanda (510) 337-8564.

Cannoli is still looking for her person.
Her ideal home would be quiet, without kids or other animals, and have a big yard where she can sun bathe. She would do best with an experienced handler who will continue her training. If you would like to meet Cannoli, visit our Fortmann location Wed-Sun 11-4.

A couple of our new dogs are having a very hard time in their kennels, and are in great need of loving fosters. Could this be you?

Gumby is a 3-month-old pup who is dealing with Parvo. He’s sad and scared in isolation. (His photo is taken through the iso glass, thus the reflection) If you have other dogs, they should be fully vaccinated adults. Gumby will still shed the virus for a few more weeks. Whoever takes him should not have puppies or unvaccinated animals in the space for at least six months following. He needs to stay calm and quiet on kennel rest for a few more weeks so probably best if they are kept separate.

Pokey is a sweet, 3-year-old Anatolian shepherd mix with three legs. He’s shy and kind of shut down at the shelter. He’s housebroken, seems to get along with other dogs, and really wants to get into a home. His life probably hasn’t been a bed of roses, but you could give him the re-boot he needs to grow and thrive.

Please come see them tomorrow (Weds) thru Sunday during open hours 11-4 at our main shelter. If you can't come in, fill out an application and we'll get back to you. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1lGhsLsMeqOFWwWXsfBxrbXiXsl0Af3wetHGr25oqgrY/

We have a lot of great dogs right now who are looking for fosters, so if these two don't work for you, please inquire about others. We take care of food, bowls, leashes, beds, meds (if needed) and veterinary care. You just take care of the dog whose life you will change!

Summer recently went on some spa days and had a wonderful time. Here is what the volunteer that took her out had to say:
Summer is such a delight! She has been doing great with everyone she meets. She has been great with kiddos to adults. Well mannered and gentle. When dogs are around like beach or on walks or in the neighborhood barking… she might look however just goes about her business. No real reactions, most of the time no real response to the other dogs.
If you would like to meet Summer, visit our Fortmann location Wed-Sun 11-4.

Private Adoptions Spotlight: Meet Jasper!

Jasper is a 4-year-old pup who’s bursting with personality! This fun-loving, people-focused dog is eager to make new friends and would be the perfect addition to any family.

Jasper thrives on companionship and is all about playtime—whether he’s frolicking in the sunshine, enjoying adventures on walks and hikes, or reveling in his absolute favorite pastime: delicious treats! 🐾

His adoration for people is limitless, but Jasper prefers to be the star of the show. He can be a bit reactive around other dogs, so he'll do best in a loving home where he can shine as the center of attention.

Aruba is friendly and enjoys socializing with people, especially when out for walks. However, she doesn’t like being picked up or having her lower back petted, so it’s important to respect her boundaries. She can be selective with other dogs, preferring those who are calm and not too in her face or overly energetic. For this reason, she may be best suited as the only dog in the home.
While she’s fine around younger children, she prefers to be around older children who can respect her space and boundaries. Aruba would thrive in a calm, structured home where her needs are understood, and where she can be the center of attention. If you're looking for a sweet, social companion with a playful spirit and gentle nature, Aruba might be your perfect match! You can meet her at our Fortmann location Wed-Sun 11-4.
