Due to rising costs and rent increase, we regretfully have had to raise our prices on all baths and haircuts. The price change starts January 1st, 2025. Due to a higher volume of no-show appointments, we have decided to add a $25 fee. This will be added to your next scheduled appointment. We understand that unforeseen matters do happen. 
It is costing us valuable time and money when appointments don’t show or call to cancel in a timely manner.
We do encourage a 24 hour notice of cancellation. This gives us time to replace the appointment.

Kind of a Teaching Tuesday and a Wisdom Wednesday all rolled into one today. This is a picture of Monica, my Guide Dog flunk out. She, as well as the other two Clark dogs, were crate trained as puppies and are still crated at night. Crate training, in my humble opinion, is one the most important skills a dog can be taught for multiple reasons. Crates provide dogs a place to relax. They prevent unwanted behavioral issues and decrease the potential of injuries. They protect the home from damage when the pet is left alone. Cages and crates are necessary in a veterinary hospital. Animals who are nervous in a crate undoubtedly have a hard time convalescing in the hospital.

With the most recent weather emergencies, I cringe thinking about the animals who have been lost and are now found or have been evacuated from and forced to remain in crates. Those scared pets who have not been acclimated to a crate are suffering a higher level of anxiety during these recovery days. If only pet parents understood how important this training is, just as much as proper elimination, sit, stay and place.

I took this picture last weekend when I was in the kitchen. I heard Monica step into her crate of her own accord. I think she was attracted to the spot because of the sun coming through the window, but it just goes to show how comfortable she is in a crate to walk into it without a command and then to remain there with the door open. I thank the Lord my family has never had to evacuate from the storms SW Georgia has suffered the last several years, but it is a comfort to know my pets would not suffer added stress and anxiety because of being forced to remain in a crate.🐾
