Sometimes a mating just works exactly like you hope it will! All the babies are roan with lots of patches. All are active and looking for ways to get out of the basket or the whelping box at only 4 weeks and all are very well bred! Not a cull in the whole bunch of them! They are bred for the hunt and they are not cheap, run of the mill puppies. If you train them well, they will surely perform for you! Do you want to see pictures? We went to the GSP Club of South GA field trial, held at Arabi GA December 5-8. Thank you to the judges and all the volunteers for putting on a successful field trial! Our pretty pup, Sabre, had a good weekend with a First Place in Open Puppy, a Second in Amateur Walking Puppy and another Second in Amateur Walking Derby. Sophie ran her first adult stake and, though she did not place this time, she had an impressive run! They were all handed by our friend and co-owner Tray Horne or Oak Run Kennels.

Lucy and Sunny are sisters and they have made us proud in a couple of American Field events this year! They are owned, trained and handled by Jason King of Straight to the Point kennels and they are daughters of our own FC Royalerun Sam Adams and Les Watts' Red Oaks Heart of Dixie! Both of these girls won their Open Shooting Dog events... Lucy at the Mid Carolina FTC event at Camden SC and Sunny at the Duplin County FTC event at Faison NC!

This gorgeous little lady went to her first field trial this past weekend and did great for her first time out! She brought us home a Second Place in Open Puppy and a Third in Amateur Puppy. She stayed out front, did everything she knew and then some.... Our thanks to the volunteers and judges for a really nice weekend at the GSP Club of South GA's November field trial!

Breezy was the last daughter of my Rose and she has been a great dog who lived and loved to point birds! Today she made that final trip to the veterinarian with me and she is going to be missed by all who loved her! It was a hard day, but now she is running where the birds are plentiful and no one has to ever get old and feeble...

Sunny had a great year and she is still in the Top Ten Field Trial Statistics for Open Gun Dog for 2023 through March 2024. She is number 4 in the country!! This is per the most recent issue of GSPCA's Shorthair Journal.

I have a very fancy and fully trained gundog coming available. He hunts hard, holds point steady to wing and shot and is a retrieving machine! Not posting pictures on here or price, but I can tell you that he is 7 years old, looking for a really good home and is not going to be a cheap find for you. If you know what a good, well trained dog should bring then we can talk. You MUST PM me for any more information. I will NOT answer questions on this thread. Please be seriously interested so we don't waste my time and yours.

There is something weighing heavily on my heart these days and it is time for me to post my concern... and I hope folks will know that this is coming for the dogs, not for me.

All who know me know that I am a breeder and I love my GSPs. I have bred and raised and placed lots of pups over the years. I have taken a few back to help families who had to rehome them for various reasons but most have remained with their families. Most breeders do this out of concern for the pups and the families. After all, stuff happens in life that is sometimes out of our control. And, most breeders have helped owners with rehoming when necessary.

Since the GSP became so very popular, a lot of people jumped on the breeding bandwagon, and sometimes for less than stellar reasons. I have even seen some websites and posts on FB where there were no dogs at all, just an unscrupulous someone collecting deposits, only to disappear and then try it again someplace else... Well, those collecting your money and running were only a small part of the problem. The biggest part is the folks who simply saturated the market and over saturated the market with puppies. And I am not talking about the "real" breeders who have sometimes a lifetime of experience. We are still out there. Just we have had to back off our breeding programs because we are not in it to sell cheap puppies.

This problem has not only hurt the dogs, it has hurt experienced breeders all over who have well bred, beautiful dogs but who have stopped breeding for a while because there are few new homes for their pups...pups who would be fine hunters, or maybe even competitive amateur show dogs. These breeders are not the folks who just buy a pair of GSPs, breed them, and then dump them when the market dries up. These are folks that are in it for the long haul and who know the ups and downs of breeding, the long hours of managed care, etc.

Nuff said? I hope so.

I am saying all this because I have a list of dogs needing families... dogs that are low to no cost to new families... born from 2015 to 2023... they are not my dogs but they are in need of families to love them... if you are interested in a retired dog or an older pup, please send me a message and I will get you in contact with the owners. From there, it is up to you and the owners to make your deal. I will help if needed.

I have been given the opportunity to help rehome 3 beautiful GSPs and 2 GWPs. They were born from 2015 to 2019 and just need families to love for the rest of their days. I am happy to help these ladies find their retirement homes for a good friend... just message me if interested. We are not looking forward to expensive rehoming fees, just yards and a comfy place to call home :) Not for breeding... They are located in south GA. Please message me for more information....
