🎨 Do you have a Buckskin Bred horse in your barn? The ABRA Buckskin Bred program is an excellent opportunity to show your horse of ANY COLOR that meets the requirements for BB registration in ABRA classes. NWBC is please to announce we’ll be adding Amateur and Youth Buckskin Bred performance divisions, in addition to our Open Buckskin Bred Division. Please PM the page if you have any questions, or need help researching your horse’s pedigree for that one relative that’ll get your horse into the BB program!

🌟 ABRA Buckskin Bred Program Expanded! 🌟

In 2025, the American Buckskin Registry Association (ABRA) expanded the Buckskin Bred Program (BBP) — giving more horses with Buckskin lineage the opportunity to participate and be recognized!

✨ Horses with a great-great grandsire or granddam (4th generation) meeting ABRA’s Regular Registry guidelines may now qualify, provided parentage can be verified.

✨ Under the Hardship Clause (REG124), horses with white markings outside ABRA’s color guidelines (such as Paints, Pintos, or Appaloosas) can also qualify — allowing them to register and show in Buckskin Bred classes at ABRA-approved events.

📋 Important:
• BBP is not eligible for foals born before December 31
• BBP horses are not eligible for a Weanling Work Order (WWO)

The ABRA is offering Half-Price Registration for Hardship Buckskin Bred horses — those that fall under the Hardship Clause (REG124).

🌹 Blast from the past series… 1986 ABRA Queen, Jessica Bradfield (now King) rides Quincys Chickaluck in the Rose Parade. Jessica was in the parade in the morning, and graduated high school that afternoon! 👩‍🎓

💛 The Northwest Buckskin Club is pleased to announce that we have donated funds towards Mavis's brain cancer fight!
Mavis's dad, Mark Staser-Thomas, and Uncle, John Thomas, used to come to NWBC shows with Judy Hopfer and Cindy Test when the boys were teenagers. They happily helped the club anyway they could! They helped set up and tear down trail, re-set trail, set up and tear down for gaming classes and more!!!
Recently, Mark's 6 year old daughter, Mavis, was diagnosed with brain cancer.
She recently had surgery to remove the tumor. She still has chemotherapy and radiation in her future.

🌟 Blast from the past series… Tamra Southerton and her mare HV Imperial Silver aka “Liberty or Libby”, circa 2009. Members of the Riggs Horsemanship show team!

Tamra showed NWBC for many years with this mare, winning many youth all around high points. She then went on to become an OHSET champion many times over! Always showing with back number “123” 🙌
