What an innovator 😂 Miami is in a cone because his skin allergies are flaring up and he will itch his face raw. He’s figured out the best way to get to his food with the cone on!
Five years ago today, our fostering journey began with a litter of five white kittens - saved from euthanasia down south - which I affectionately called The Hobgoblins. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I walked into Petsmart that day to pick them up, but boy was I in for a wild, magical summer… and what a journey it has been since then.
Since that first fateful litter I’ve helped heal sick cats, injured cats, traumatized cats. I’ve spent months working with cats that would typically be written off as feral. I’ve cradled and syringe fed a dying kitten. I’ve held a two day old newborn in the palm of my hand as he drew his last breath. I’ve comforted a mama cat as she gave birth on my floor late into the night. And I’ve met so many truly amazing people along the way.
After spending my entire childhood taking care of strays and trying to adopt any animal I found (wild or not), I can’t say I’m surprised that I’ve landed myself in the middle of animal rescue. And I am so grateful. Grateful for Kitten Angels and all the amazing work they do, grateful for the adopters and their updates, and of course… grateful for my boyfriend who never says no to new fosters and always helps with feeding and medications and taking the kitties to their appointments. He does just as much as I do behind the scenes. 💕
If you have adopted from us in the past five years, we would love if you could fill the comments on this post with updates! ❤️❤️❤️
Every time we get hit with this awful winter weather, I am extra relieved that our fosters are safe, warm, and sleeping peacefully in their room. I can’t imagine where this sweet girl would be trying to take shelter tonight if she hadn’t been rescued. And there are so many more out there tonight that still need our help. 😥
Lucky is currently available for adoption and is looking for a home where she will be the only pet. She was abandoned on the streets by her previous humans, but that didn’t deter her from being so happy and affectionate. We’re just waiting for someone to give her a chance! 🥰
🍀 It’s St. Patrick’s day and we have the best lucky charm right here, available for adoption! Lucky is the sweetest girl and as you can see in the video, super smart! She has what I call “happy tail” where she vibrates her tail when she’s feeling extra excited. Some people might think she’s spraying, but she’s a spayed female, so… she’s just telling us how happy she is to see us… and eat breakfast. 😂 You can’t tell from the video, but she also slobbers like crazy when she’s happy and you’ll hear her walking around, smacking her lips!
Lucky must be the only pet in the home, but she’ll make up for it with all the love she has to give. I just adore this girl! Someone out there will be lucky to have Lucky! 🍀
(Not available for adoption. Foster fail!)
Tessie *loves* her nightly pampering session 😂 gotta keep that fur fluffed and silky!
When Fi was a newborn, I thought he was a girl, so I named him Fiona. It wasn’t until he was a bit older that I realized Fiona was a male. 😂 He was the first out of the litter to show affection, and he’s always had such a deep purr. He’s very nervous right now, but the purr is there! 💕
Imagine this boy snuggled up under your Christmas tree… 🎄 ❤️
Beautiful Sketchers is still in search of her forever home. This former mama is looking for someone who will be patient with her, as it can take time to gain her trust. She’s worth it, though! The way to her heart is through play; she loves chasing strings. 🥰
Sketch is good with other cats, but no dogs, please!
Neko and Lola are sad they didn’t find a home in time for Thanksgiving, but at least they’ll have humans to sleep with in the guest room tonight.
These two soulmates are in search of their forever home after the sudden passing of their previous adoptive mommy. Neko and Lola are sweet, goofy, playful, but also content to snooze at your feet. Truly the perfect pair. Can we find them a home for Christmas?
This week has been really heavy on my heart and this morning I was really feeling the weight of it all. But then I looked over and saw Tessie playing in the bathtub and I felt a little lighter. She’s too cute to even be real.
If you had told me even a week ago that Sketchers would be greeting me at the door, licking my hand, purring, and begging for pets, I absolutely wouldn’t have believed you. Don’t get me wrong, she still has moments where she will suddenly hiss and swipe with claws out, but this is an entirely new cat compared to even a few days ago. Still trying to figure out her triggers, but I think she will be ready to start the search for a forever home within the next few weeks. She’s got a lot of love to give!
Not sure if the camera picked it up, but she was PURRING! 🥹
The first headbutt! Oh I’m so happy! She’s still hissing, but I can see from her body language that she’s desperately wanting some pets.
Almost ate from my hand… sooooo close!
WOW!!! Yessss, Sketchers!!!
Hard to get any reading done when your foot is under attack 😂
