To be PTS on Saturday. Visalia has a VERY short window of opportunity for dogs to be adopted or resucued.

Both stunningly lovely and sweet. Her 10 day stray hold ended and now her seven day adoption or rescue window has closed. She was scheduled to be euthanized today at 6 PM but we managed to get her a 2 day extension. Rescue, foster, adopt to save her life.

‼️⚠️📢 Dogs are at a high risk of euthanasia as soon as their 'available date' (per the shelter manager) and dogs can not stay at the shelter longer than 7 days due to the city budget (per the city manager). In 2023, the shelter had a 27% euthanization rate. In other words, if you are interested in adopting an available dog, time is of the essence. For any questions or to voice your concerns regarding the shelter's euthanasia policies and procedures, contact the City of Visalia council members and/or attend a city council meeting to make your voice heard.

Tagged and Rescued per the Shelter!

THIS EMAIL CAME FROM THE STANISLAUS SHELTER APPENDED TO THEIR SECOND AND FIRST REQUEST. THIS MOM AND PUPS ARE NOW EXTREMELY URGENT. IT IS NO LONGER AN ISSUE OF IT WOULD BE BEST IF THEY COULD FIND A FOSTER TO AVOID DISEASE AND ANGST. NOW THEIR LIVES ARE DEPENDANT ON A RESCUE OR FOSTER. THEY ARE A STRONG AND RESILIENT FAMILY THAT DESERVES TO LIVE.

UNBELIEVEABLE ☹💔 THIRD REQUEST – NO INTEREST ~ 11 days ago I emailed my first request to help this family without response. A follow up email was sent earlier this week and again, crickets 💔. Trust me, I do understand this is a BIG ask, this is a large litter but we CANNOT continue to house them here at the shelter. The puppies are now listed as 3-weeks-old, they are nearing the next stages in their growth and development and it is going to become challenging and detrimental to their well being to continue to be housed in this environment.

Momma Asker has been doing all the hard work amid the stress of this environment she has been resilient and managing well. As unfair as this has been to her she is happy-go-lucky and deserves a chance to continue doing what she does best! There is nothing that we have noted about her behavior that has suggested issues with people, she does appear reactive to dogs in the yards but I'm unsure if this is barrier reactivity. Of course we only know what we have experienced with her here but still... she deserves a chance.

This family will be added to the Final Due Out List next week and will need a plan by Saturday 11/23/24 at 4:30pm. 💔 I know this will rile the masses and I can't image adding this family to the list so we are begging and pleading to find a way to keep them ALL safe.

Unfortunately this is all too common. This has happened multiple times with multiple people. These people pledges for dogs, then block us when it comes time to honor those pledges.

Please please please do not pledge for a dog if you don’t intend to honor your pledge. People who do this are not rescue supporters and only hurt the dogs and rescues. I would like others to be aware who these people are so they don’t count on their pledges.

Ash is still at the LA City Shelter. Per the shelter now needs exit by the 29th but who really knows! There was an erroneous post stating he had rescue. NOT the case. Please don't say that until confirmed by the municipality. No one came for him with a date of 10.17.24. Will someone come in the next 10 days?

Ash is on our Euthanasia List ( Dogs that are not "rescue only") Dogs that have no Major medical)

Ash has been observed as having a high level of FAS in the Shelter environment. Continued high levels of FAS can be deleterious to both the physiological and emotional well-being of the pet. Pets with elevated FAS that cannot be reduced will need to leave the Shelter for a more suitable home as soon as possible.

This dog is available for adoption and has been in the shelter system since 09/16/24.
