SOS SOS Urgent call for Rescue/Foster/Adopter
Emaciated, belly bloated from eating trash to survive. This gentle boy was ignored and shooed away as he roamed the streets. His tail still wagged as he followed people and their dogs on their walks - he just wanted to find companionship. Finally a good samaritian from a local veterinary hospital found him and slipped a lead over his neck. Hurrah, he seemed to know that his life was going to change and he eagerly jumped in the car. At the animal hospital, they discovered that he had no microchip, was still intact, and was dangerously underweight. He couldn't hold down food, and X-rays showed his belly was bloated with trash he had eaten in a desperate attempt to survive. But this boy is a fighter. After several days of IV fluids and supportive care, he bounced back, full of energy and love.
Now fully vaccinated, neutered, and healthy, this boy, now known as Silo, is ready for a home outside the hospital. For the past few weeks, he has been living in a small cage at the hospital—not a long term solution for a dog with a big heart and love for life. He deserves the freedom to stretch his legs, run, play, and be part of a loving family.
Brought back from immienent death by the kind veterinary hospital who stepped up to sav him. Silo has survived so much! The veterinary hospital has done their part to ensure that he's ready and now he's searching for someone who will give him the forever home he deserves. Could that be you?
Silo is estimated by the vet to be a year old. He currently weighs 52 pounds but still needs to gain weight. He was noted to be a bit cautious around men at first, but was very quick to warms up once he feels safe. He is comfortable with all the men at the vet. He seemed to do really well with small dogs in the beginning and unsure of big dogs. But since he has been stuck in a crate he has slowly been getting more reactive. I pray that with a more stimulating environment he will be ok. He has seen my two cats and was very intrigued by them but I didn't let them get near each other. He hasn't interacted with kids other than seeing them on walks. He didn't seem to have much interest. Sit command is perfect, stay is about 75% there.
