****Attention Hunters****

Hello everyone. Due to prior commitments with my full time job, I will not be taking in any birds or deer heads from 11/1 - 11/11.

For birds, please wrap the head and feet in damp paper towels, wrap up and freeze.

For deer, roll the cape up to the neck, double wrap only exposting the antlers and freeze.

Proper caping, results in a better mount and no extra cost for the customer due to sewing or even a replacement cape. Stay away from the brisket.

Please note the following dates that I will not be able to take in any deer heads or waterfowl due to not being home or my full time job work obligations.

10/11 - 10/25
11/2 - 11/10

If you are successful harvesting a deer, please have it properly caped, double wrapped, only exposing the antlers and freeze immediately. No ears or hair should be exposed.

For waterfowl, wrap the head and feet in a damp paper towel, double wrap and freeze. Also, please check your bird for any pin feathers immediately after harvesting by gently back brushing the feathers with your hand. If you see any small white feather quills, your bird is most likely unmountable. Please see the pictures.

That’s a wrap for the 2023 waterfowl and deer hunting seasons and the 2024 Turkey season. My freezers are now empty!!!! 🦆🦌🦃

With deer season fast approaching, I wanted to share a few pics on proper caping. There are also some great YouTube videos that demonstrate the proper method. Remember, the quicker you get your trophy, caped, to the taxidermist, the less likely you will have issues with having to purchase a new cape. Warm weather is your worst enemy!!🦌🦌

Hello fellow hunters. With the early goose season opening on 9/1, please remember that most early season birds of full of pin feathers and are not mountabale. Please wait until the later part of the waterfowl season to think about having your trophy mounted. Below is what to look for on your birds. These are undeveloped feathers and will fall out during the mounting process.

Busy weekend in the shop. Finished up 2 dead mounts and began setting up 2 turkeys. One full strut and one gobbling on a limb. 🦆🦃

I really didn’t think this woody was going to make it. Badly freezer burnt feet and skin, one wing completely destroyed and pin feathers. The best part, the customer wanted a dead mount.

I added the Drake Bufflehead on Wednesday night. These will be added to a shadow box once they’re dry.

I switched to the Spypoint cell cameras this year. I like the quality vs the Tactacam cameras. Nice fat doe and either a hawk or owl.
