Fin visited his feathered friends this Fishmas Eve, with a little Fishmas story to read! Interactions like listening to a fun story are a good example of social enrichment. Birds use many different vocalizations to interact with each other, and Fin thought he’d add a new voice to the conversation today. Merry Fishmas to all, and to all a good night!

The Plastic Wave, created by artist David Weeks, serves as a tribute to the Great Wave off Kanagawa while raising awareness about the global plastic crisis. This impressive 10-foot, 750-pound artwork illustrates the challenges faced by numerous ocean creatures in an environment filled with plastics that can take hundreds, if not thousands, of years to decompose. Debuting in 2021 as part of the artist's non-profit initiative, Plastic is Wack, the sculpture was donated to Flint RiverQuarium to support its mission of conservation education.
We concluded our magical morning with a field trip to the butterfly tent, generously sponsored by Molson Coors of Albany, where we released and fed butterflies 🌻🦋
