A Barn Hunt Seminar is being offered by Discover Austin, in Austin, Minnesota, on June 29, 2024. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Registration is required and will close on June 21, 2024 or when the limit of 35 dogs is reached. The registration form and more information about the seminar can be found on the Kennel Club of Freeborn County website (kennelclubofreeborncounty.org).

Obedience class: Obedience classes will start Thursday, May 16, 2024, in our training room at the city arena. This is for dogs older than 10 months old. The cost is $100.00 for 8 weekly sessions. Two class times will be offered one at 6:00 PM, and one at 7:00 PM. A downloadable application form can be found on our website (kennelcluboffreeborncounty.org) or can be obtained by emailing ([email protected]).

This class is on a first come basis. Your form must be received by May 11. Class acceptance will close on May 11th or when both classes are filled, whichever is first. Those applications that did not make the cut will be shredded along with the check. You will be notified of your acceptance into the class, the time of the class, and what to bring to class through your email after May 11.

Puppy Kindergarten: Puppy kindergarten classes will start March 20, 2024, in our training room at the city arena. This is for puppies up to 10 months old. The cost is $100.00 for 8 weekly sessions. Class size is limited to 10 dog & handler participants. Two class times will be offered one at 6:00 PM, and one at 7:00 PM. A downloadable application form can be found on our website (kennelcluboffreeborncounty.org) or can be obtained by emailing [email protected].

This class is on a first come basis. Your form must be received by March 13 . Class acceptance will close on March 13 or when both classes are filled, whichever is first. Those applications that did not make the cut will be shredded along with the check. Thank you honorable judge Grace Fritz for finding our Angel in a beautiful class of golden girls! Thank you to the honorable judge Ms. Edweena (Teddy) McDowell for finding our Angel in a group of beautiful sporting dogs! Thanks also to Marissa Geels Hendrix and Michele Whitney for sharing this wonderful puppy with me! She is a remarkable partner with an endless supply of hugs and kisses, she brightens each and every day ♥️♥️♥️!

We had a CGC Evaluation last night for the obedience class graduates. 2 of the dogs earned their Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog Novice!

Today at the Key City Kennel Club dog show all three dogs from the Kennel Club of Freeborn County placed in their respective classes! Congratulations to Amy and Degan with their first place win in Beginning Novice A and their first leg! Congratulations to Susan and Azeri on their first place win in Rally Excellent! Congratulations to Eragon and Jeanne on their third place win (but loser of the run off) in Open B!
