Water
As a general rule of thumb, a dog should drink 1 ounce of water per pound of body weight over a 24-hour period. For example, a 70 pound dog should drink at least 70 ounces of water per day.

Gentrys Pride Live A Lilā Chesney āChesneyā
I wasnāt able to go to an event this past weekend with Chesney, but a good friend offered to take Chesney for me instead. Brianna is very familiar with DockDogs venue and did an excellent job of handling Chesney.
To be honest with you all, I have been practicing a lot with Chesney this year in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but Chesney is very attached to me. I was nervous she wouldnāt jump for Briannaā¦ā¦. But, Chesney literally had me in tears. I was so proud of her!!!
For her first event ever, Chesney jumped 12ā2ā, 11ā2ā, 10ā10ā, 10ā8ā in Big Air. She was able to get three second place ribbons and one fourth place ribbon for her division.
Brianna originally only planned on taking her on Saturday, but then thought Chesney might qualify for finals on Sunday. Brianna took her back on Sunday and she made finals!!!
She jumped a 12ā6ā (her best jump all weekend) and ended up getting second place in her division in finals. She was also able to receive 4 of 5 legs towards her junior title.
Brianna also tried speed with Chesney, which she jumped off the dock for. However, she didnāt know to get the toy at the end. More practice and trainingāone day, she will get it!
I cannot thank Brianna enough for offering to take my crazy Chesney. She made sure Chesney had the best care. Special thank you to Briannaās parents and boyfriend for allowing Chesney to stay overnight, and for helping with multiple potty breaks, taking videos, and loving on Chesney. Also, thank you to many of Briannaās friends for all your love and support for Chesneyās first event. Finally, thank you DockDogs for making Chesneyās dreams come trueāshe got to swim all weekend!
I look forward to doing more events with Chesney in the future! She is such a fun dog. This weekend gave us a good baseline on where we need more training. However, my fav
I left for one nightā¦. Less than 24 hours to go to Nebraska for a mini girlās trip. I come home yesterday and Chesney lost her mind. š Clearly, I never leave without my dogs coming with me.
A Dog's Heartbeat
How to calculate a dog's heartbeat: Count the beats for 15 seconds; multiply that number by 4.
An adult dog's average heart rate is 120 to 160 beats per minute.
Life with a Goldenā¦.. forever hugs, love and attention. Chesney reminds me so much of her momma Gentry. ā¤ļø
It's an important tool for the dog, for sure!
Baby steps!
Fun, short video for everyone to watch. This is Chesney from Sundayās dock diving practice. She will get to the big dock this winter, I just know it!
BLAST FROM THE PAST FRIDAY:
***Not a current litter***
Pink girl (GentryxBeau 2017) now known as Lizzie saying hello to the world only a few hours old. She also happened to be the smallest girl Gentry ever gave birth too, weighting only 11 ounces.
Fun fact: Chesneyās smallest puppy was purple girl, now known as Gabi. Gabi weighted 8 ounces at the time of birth.
BLAST FROM THE PAST FRIDAY:
That time Jake and I thought we were crazy to travel to Kansas with three dogs in the truck for heart clearances! ššš Now, we travel with four at all times.
We truly are blessed to have such great companions to travel with us.
Video taken August 2020 on the way to Manhattan, Kansas. This trip was definitely my favorite dog trip, so far. Jake and I had so much fun sight-seeing on the backroads.
Seger and Chesneyās speeds from FCAT trials in Seward, Nebraska on May 6-8. Please note this was our first time doing these events. It was rainy, windy, and muddy, very muddy! To say the least, Jake and I are very proud of our girls. They both qualified 6 of 6 runs that weekend.
Jake does the releasing for me (Iām so beyond grateful to have a boyfriend who helps, supports, and comes with to help me), while I wait 100 yards away to catch at the end. I wish you all could see their faces when they come running down the track towards me. They were both āsmilingā with their ears high in the air. This is definitely one of their favorite things to do!

Jake and I are running both dogs next weekend to (hopefully) have better weather and complete their AKC BCAT titles. For BCAT titles, the dogs need a total of 150 points. This means we are less than 25 points away on Seger and Chesney! Be watching for updates on page!

Video of Seger running her first trial ever! Please excuse my voice. I literally had laryngitis two days before this video was taken. My voice was still in ārepairā mode. Donāt tell my doctor I was out competing. š
Take care to protect your pets from potential illness and even death by being aware. ā¤
