When you visit Pet Nation Veterinary Care Center, we hope you will feel at home. Our favorite feature is the nearby wetlands, and we have windows in each exam room to enjoy that view. Our patients enjoy the view too!

Dr. Carrilyn Rossi comes from Hopkins, MN.

She received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at the University of Minnesota in 2010. While in school, she adopted a dog named Oliver. Her experiences with his many medical issues led her to pursue veterinary school.

Dr. Rossi graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. Dr Rossi enjoys learning new things to help ensure that every patient gets the care they need.

Dr. Rossi now lives in Columbia Heights with her boyfriend and her pets, including a Cane Corso, a Shih tzu/pug mix, a Yorkipoo and ten chickens.

Meet the doctors!

Dr. Katelyn Mertes attended the University of Minnesota-Crookston earning a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2016. She then attended the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020.

After graduating from veterinary school Dr Mertes began working with large and small animals as a mixed animal practitioner. During the pandemic with changes in demands she decided to do small animal medicine and surgeries in a full-time capacity.

Dr. Mertes currently resides on a beef farm with her husband Mike. When away from the clinic, she loves training and competing in events with their four dogs: Aspen, a Beagle, and Kimber, Tikka and Caliber, who are all Labrador Retrievers.
